Siento
The people who show up deserve more than a hotline. Siento is a peer support network platform built for the way first responders actually work. Respond. Support.
Sustain.

The call ends. The line clears. The next one comes in eleven seconds.
There's no bay to sit in. No windshield time. A headset and a queue.
Dispatch carries it differently because dispatch has nowhere to set it down.

You take the screener. It gives you a number.
Then what?
That's the part nobody answers. The app's job ends at the result. Yours starts there.
A score is not support. A directory is not support.
Support is a person who picks up.

"He's the one everybody talks to."
Every agency has that person. Usually they didn't ask for it.
They take the call at 0230. They sit in the parking lot after shift. They carry a piece of everybody's worst shift, then go run their own.
Nobody tracks that. Nobody backfills it.
The peer supporter is a first responder too.

You don't fight a working fire with one engine.
You call for mutual aid, because the run card already assumes you'll need help from outside your jurisdiction. Settled doctrine for decades.
Peer support is the one place we still expect a department to handle it alone.
Twenty people. One trained peer supporter. Everybody knows everybody's business.
Mutual aid for people should work the way mutual aid for fires does.
That is the whole idea.

National Su***de Prevention Day.
If you're a first responder...this one's worth sitting with for a second.
You spend your career showing up for other people's worst days. That takes something. It's supposed to.
Talking about it isn't weakness. Most of the people you respect most have talked about it too, they just didn't do it out loud.
If you're struggling, call or text 988. Someone will pick up. Or reach out to your peer team, that's what they're there for.
If you know someone who is, check on them today. Not with a text. Call them.

Two things come up in almost every conversation we have with an agency.
The first: people want the ability to talk to someone outside their own agency.
The second: the peer team is running on four different tools and none of them talk to each other.
Neither one is a training problem.
Both are infrastructure problems.

East Lansing Fire just renewed its partnership with Siento™
They were one of the first departments to sign on. Back when Siento was mostly an idea and our founder asking people to trust it.
They didn't have to say yes then.
They didn't have to say yes again.
They did.
Thank you

Peer support training ends with a certificate.
Then months pass before the first real conversation.
SientoSIM is where peer supporters practice that conversation before it counts. Real scenarios. Real hesitation. No stakes.
Kevin Willis, Frederick County 911
"Using SientoSim prepared me to talk to a combat veteran outside 911."

Most wellness apps hand you a screener, resource directory, and "content."
Then what?
A score is not support. A library is not support. Support is a person who picks up.
Siento is built for what happens after the result...a peer support network your people reach on demand.

We're in Murfreesboro Wednesday through Friday for the Tennessee Sheriffs Association Summer Conference.
A sheriff's office is not one job. Patrol, corrections, dispatch, civil process... different shifts, different calls, different weight. One peer team covers all of it.
Ryan Chambers closes us out Friday at 4:00 with Keeping Your Purpose On and Off Duty.
