Happy National Dog Week from Mezzo Poodles! 🐩🐾

Around here, dogs are so much more than pets. They are family, training partners, adventure buddies, couch companions, and, occasionally, the reason absolutely nothing gets done on time.

National Dog Week feels like the perfect excuse to celebrate all of that, but also to share a little more about what goes into raising dogs who are prepared to become wonderful family companions.

Throughout the rest of the week, we’re going to talk about some of the things that matter most to us at Mezzo, from early puppy development and socialization, to temperament and matching puppies with the right families, to health testing and the thought that goes into responsible breeding.

Because behind every adorable puppy picture is a whole lot of work, planning, learning, and love.

And of course, we had to kick things off with some of the dogs who make Mezzo what it is. Allie and Ellie are our current moms, while Reverie, Valkyrie, and Morrigan are our up-and-coming girls. Leroy and Nash round out the crew as our boys. Seven very different personalities, each bringing something a little different to our program and reminding us exactly why we love this breed so much.

We’ll be introducing you to more of what makes each of them special throughout the week.

4.5 weeks old and the Harvest Litter is getting VERY opinionated about picture day. 😂🍂

Some of these babies are already learning how to sit pretty, look at the camera, and absolutely nail the pose.

Others are more like… “No thank you, I have places to be.” 😂

Their little personalities are coming out more every day, and we are getting lots of playing, exploring, wrestling, and general puppy chaos around here.

We are officially entering one of our favorite stages, where they start feeling less like tiny potatoes and more like actual little dogs. 🥹🐩

Who’s your favorite from the Harvest Litter?

🌾 The Harvest Litter is TWO weeks old! 🌾

Our little harvest is growing right before our eyes! 🥹 Their eyes are starting to open, and they’re becoming much more mobile, wobbling their way around the whelping box on those tiny little legs.

They’re still spending most of their days eating and sleeping, but we’re starting to see little glimpses of the puppies they’re becoming. Over the next week, their world is going to get a whole lot bigger as they begin to see, hear, move around, and interact more with each other. 🤎🖤

🌾 Officially Introducing the Harvest Litter!

We are so pleased to finally introduce Allie × Nash’s beautiful Harvest Litter! 🍂

Nine sweet little babies, each named for something you might find during the fall harvest. And while they may be tiny, their personalities are already starting to peek through. 🤎

🎃 Pumpkin — Magenta Collar
🌰 Hazelnut — Red Collar
🍠 Yam — Orange Collar
🥬 Kale — Green Collar
🌾 Barley — Light Blue Collar
🌱 Turnip — Yellow Collar
🍎 Apple — Light Pink Collar
🌽 Maize — Turquoise Collar
🌱 Sprout — Blue Collar

Hazelnut and Turnip are our two beautiful brown girls, Barley is our one and only black boy, and the remaining six are black girls.

And one of our favorite little surprises? Every single puppy has their own adorable small abstract white markings on their face, chest and feet. Some are just the tiniest little splash, but each one makes them uniquely theirs. 🥹

We had the best dinner date last night with Valkyrie from our Liminal Litter. 🤎

Not only does this girl have an absolutely wonderful temperament, but just LOOK at that gorgeous deep brown color! 😍 She is growing into such a beautiful girl, inside and out.

🐾 ANNOUNCEMENT: The Harvest Litter Has Arrived! 🐾

We are so excited to share that Allie and Nash’s puppies were born on August 17, 2026! 🌾

We welcomed 9 beautiful puppies:
✨ 8 girls
✨ 1 boy
🤎 2 brown girls
🖤 7 black puppies

Our first 24 hours have been filled with tiny squeaks, full bellies, lots of sleeping, and one very devoted mama.

Allie is doing such a wonderful job! She is eating amazingly, taking great care of her babies, and we’re pretty sure she’s also very happy to have all nine of them on the outside so she can finally breathe again! 😂🤎

For now, our world is very small: mama, babies, and soaking in every minute of these first few days.

We know everyone is excited, and we are too! Please give us a few days before we begin reaching out to our waitlist. Right now, we want to give Allie and these wonderful babies all of our attention while everyone settles in. 🌾🐩

Why Mezzo Poodles?

This is Allie and me, cuddled up on our pallet right next to the whelping box. She’s sound asleep, and I’ll be right here watching a movie beside her today.

Because to us, our dogs are family first.

We have the time and energy to give our mommas exactly what they need throughout pregnancy, whelping, and raising their puppies. If that means laying on the floor and cuddling with Mom for hours because that’s where she wants us, that’s exactly where we’ll be.

Our girls aren’t just part of a breeding program. They live in our home, sleep on our couches, follow us around, and are deeply loved members of our family.

We believe the way puppies are raised starts long before they’re born. It starts with a momma who feels safe, comfortable, supported, and loved.
