After months of planning, printing, cutting, organizing, and more late nights than I'd like to admit... the mystery is almost ready!

Because so many of you asked for another chance, I've reopened registration for our second mystery on **Sunday, August 9** through this weekend (or until we reach capacity, whichever comes first).

One of my favorite parts of WAVE is getting to highlight other groups, organizations, and local businesses that are creating fun experiences for our community. There are so many great people doing awesome things around Springfield, and I love helping spread the word.

Another incredible Thrift & Sip is in the books!
Twenty wonderful ladies joined us this morning as we ventured down to Nixa for coffee, conversation, treasure hunting, and plenty of laughs along the way. 💜
A huge thank you to Sugar & Dice for making us feel so welcome and kicking off our morning with delicious drinks and a fantastic atmosphere!
From there we explored The Maze and Riker's Fleas and Furniture - Nixa, finding everything from vintage treasures to quirky décor and unique finds. And to top it all off, a few of us wrapped up the afternoon with lunch together at 14 Mill Market Food Hall.
One of my favorite things about Thrift & Sip is that every month is a little different. We get to discover new local businesses, support our community, and spend a relaxed morning getting to know one another.
Thank you to everyone who came out—I already can't wait for the next one! 🫶🏻

Behind the scenes...
A little update on our upcoming WAVE Springfield Murder Mystery! 🔎
The first step was creating the overall story. Then came the giant spreadsheet you see (a glimpse of) here, mapping out every character, what they know, who they're connected to, their importance to the mystery, alibis, hidden information, motivations, clues... and making sure it all fits together.
As of this afternoon, the spreadsheet is finally "finished" (or at least finished enough), which means I can move on to designing all the printables!
This event has been months in the making, and while it's a ton of work, I'm so excited to bring everyone an evening full of mystery, laughter, and just enough chaos.
P.S. This screenshot really was taken on my phone. 😅 I create everything for WAVE on my phone... spreadsheets, Canva graphics, video editing, social media... all of it.
If you happen to have a working laptop collecting dust that you'd be willing to donate to help WAVE continue growing, I'd genuinely love to hear from you. 💜 (Seriously, this spreadsheet contains 57 rows and 23 columns. Send help. 🥴😅)

☕🛍️ Thrift & Sip is back this Sunday!
This month we're heading to Nixa for a morning of coffee, thrifting, and good company.
We'll start at Sugar & Dice (inside Haven Games), then explore The Maze before letting the group decide our next stop(s). Every Thrift & Sip is a little different, and that's part of the fun!
If you've never joined us before, this is one of the easiest WAVE events to jump into. There's no pressure, no agenda... just coffee, conversation, and a few hours spent hunting for hidden treasures together.

If you've been wanting to join a WAVE event, our **Thrift & Sip** meetup is happening this Sunday! We'll grab coffee, browse some local thrift stores, and spend the morning hanging out together. It's one of my favorite low-key ways to meet new people.

🏆 Bonus Point Winners! 🩷
The Photo Scavenger Hunt wasn't just about checking off prompts—it was about creativity, teamwork, laughter, and seeing Historic C-Street through a new lens.
FIVE teams completed the maximum number of base points, and left our judges with the impossible task of choosing just one winner in each of these bonus categories...
📖 Best Storytelling
This team didn't just take photos... they created little scenes! Every image felt like a chapter in an adventure, complete with dramatic poses and expressions. We picked one favorite, but honestly, it was their entire gallery that earned this award.
😂 Funniest
The judges unanimously lost it over this one. A perfectly committed recreation of the famous scene from A Christmas Story. Sometimes the simplest ideas are the funniest.
🎨 Most Creative
The prompt was to find something that caught your eye at the C-Street City Market. Instead of simply photographing an item, this team found a pair of eye-shaped earrings from Annie's Earrings Plus, built the entire photo around them, and literally made the prompt come to life. It took us a second to realize what they'd done, and once we did, every judge had the same reaction: "Okay... that's brilliant."
⚡ Best Team Energy
This team brought the excitement from start to finish. Every photo was full of enthusiasm, and they even crossed the finish line with every challenge completed and 45 minutes to spare! This photo, taken inside Ozarks Life, perfectly captured the energy they carried all day.
💪 Most Effort
This team truly embraced the exploration side of the scavenger hunt. They ventured into spots that most teams never reached, including hidden areas and locations off the main stretch of C-Street. They understood that discovery was part of the challenge!
🌊 Best Representation of WAVE Springfield
This photo captured what WAVE is all about: friendship, connection, and sharing experiences together. It wasn't about the location, it was about the people.
🏛️ Best Representation of Historic C-Street
This one felt like a postcard. Big smiles, a recognizable C-Street landmark, and even the team posing with matching "C"s. It showcased Historic C-Street exactly the way we hoped participants would. The extra 5 points they got from this challenge earned them the overall prize!
One of my favorite parts of judging was realizing there wasn't just one way to "win." Some teams made us laugh. Some impressed us with their creativity. Others earned points simply because they explored places nobody else did.
Congratulations to all of our bonus point winners, and thank you to every participant for turning Historic C-Street into a shared playground for a day. I already can't wait to see what everyone comes up with next time. 💜
