Noble Mask Cosplay

25 years!

It's remarkable how long it's been since Bionicle came around. Remarkable how I've been inspired by this silly toy for its entirety. Still collect and build in it, almost have my original mask collection complete, too! Not to mention a few rarities I cherish.

How it became the biggest push for me to go into cosplay once I built those first masks. Looking back at the original Onua I wore as a goofy Halloween costume in college, it's remarkable how far I've come. Pep masks in paper mache, then fiberglass and Bondo. Now painstaking measurements and hand scaling masks in parts to make them out of EVA foam? Even a cosplay under my belt with Matoro! And I've still got a lot further to go, so many more ideas I wish to see through in this.

The forge doesn't quit, and even though it's taken more time than I wanted, my inspiration and motivation haven't faded. I've been delayed, but my next project is still well under way. I hope to share more in the coming months beyond just a new mask in progress (technically two).

Turns out there's more than one way to collect Bionicle masks.

Already shared bits and pieces of it all, but I'll be at Connecticon all this weekend! Not only in cosplay all weekend, but I'll be hosting my very first panel tonight!

We've got Toon Summoned Skull FINALLY being worn for a con after about 6 years of just sitting in storage (and needing some desperate repairs). I'll be with my wonderful partner as she does a genderswapped Pegasus (couples cosplay goals lmao)

Friday night and for part of Saturday I'll aim to be doing a VERY casual Ahkmou, the Happy Kanohi Mask Salesman. I'll have a few of my old masks on me while I test out the new head and some feet.

Regigigas will be making an appearance Saturday afternoon, both in Cosplay Chess and at the Pokemon meetup that'll be happening that evening!

And then finally, Red will close it out because why not?
