Skillet are heading into a heavier new era with After The Storm, a six-song EP arriving October 9 alongside the new single Lift Me Up.

Produced by David Cowell and Korey Cooper, the project finds John Cooper exploring betrayal, grief, perseverance and the search for hope through some of his most personal writing. Lift Me Up follows Scream, which has already passed five million global streams, and Cooper says the new song carries the spirit of early Skillet while still sounding fresh.

The track was written during a period when Cooper felt overwhelmed by everything happening around him, turning the song into a plea to escape that darkness. With After The Storm arriving this autumn, Skillet will also take the new material on a U.S. headline tour beginning September 30.

Soundgarden will take the stage at halftime of the Seattle Seahawks’ season opener at Lumen Field, bringing together several familiar faces from Seattle’s rock scene.

Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron and Ben Shepherd will be joined by The Pretty Reckless singer Taylor Momsen and Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready as the Seahawks host the New England Patriots. Momsen and McCready previously performed with the surviving Soundgarden members during “Rusty Cage” at the band’s 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction.

McCready will also perform the national anthem before kickoff while appearing on behalf of the Washington Innocence Project. The game begins at 5:20 p.m. PT and will air nationally on NBC, giving Soundgarden’s halftime appearance an especially big stage.

Marilyn Manson has added You Can’t Die Young to the expanded digital edition of One Assassination Under God Chapter 2.

Manson introduced the new track as a special gift for listeners, with the song now available alongside the expanded album. The original Chapter 2 arrived on August 14 through Nuclear Blast with nine tracks, while the updated digital edition brings the total to ten.

You Can’t Die Young appears as the sixth song in the running order, positioned between None of the Suns and Lucifer’s Teardrop. It is the only newly added track on the expanded edition, giving fans another piece of Chapter 2 without changing the rest of the album.

Metallica is extending the M72 World Tour into 2027 with 12 new North American stadium shows.

The newly announced run begins May 8 in Vancouver and concludes June 19 in Salt Lake City, with Limp Bizkit and Avatar supporting every date. Each stop will be a single concert, with Metallica’s stage positioned at midfield and the Snake Pit sitting at its centre.

Tickets are scheduled to go on sale September 25 at 10 AM local time, while fan club presales begin September 21. Legacy Members get access at 10 AM, followed by Fifth Members at noon, with all times based on the local venue time. Both Limp Bizkit and Avatar are returning partners from the M72 era.

Falling In Reverse’s “Joseph” has officially crossed 2 million YouTube views just days after its release.

The September 14 single brings Ronnie Radke together with Slipknot’s Corey Taylor and System of a Down’s Serj Tankian, with both guest vocalists appearing in the Jensen Noen-directed video. According to the band’s announcement, “Joseph” marks the first song Taylor and Tankian have performed on together.

Radke produced the track alongside Tyler Smyth, who also handled mixing and mastering. The song’s title comes from Radke’s middle name, adding another personal detail to one of Falling In Reverse’s biggest recent collaborations.

Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath’s final farewell is coming to cinemas worldwide this October.

Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning arrives for a limited engagement on October 28, capturing the historic July 5, 2025 concert at Birmingham’s Villa Park. The film features Ozzy’s solo performance before his reunion with Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward, alongside backstage footage and reflections from fellow musicians.

For Black Sabbath fans, it offers a chance to experience the Birmingham celebration on the big screen, with cinema presentations featuring Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround sound. Tickets go on sale September 24 at 10 AM ET and 7 AM PT.

Falling In Reverse’s “Joseph” has already passed 6 million YouTube views just two days after release.

The official video had climbed beyond 6.19 million views when checked, more than tripling the 2 million views reported the previous day. Ronnie Radke is joined on the track by Slipknot’s Corey Taylor and System of a Down’s Serj Tankian, with both musicians also appearing in the video directed and edited by Jensen Noen.

“Joseph” takes its title from Radke’s middle name and follows Falling In Reverse’s previous Marilyn Manson collaboration, “God Is A Weapon.” The rapid jump in views shows how much attention the new collaboration has picked up since arriving on September 14, with the single now available to stream.

South Park has given its iconic opening theme a very different twist for Season 29.

Les Claypool has recorded new vocals for the theme as the series temporarily adopts the name “South America” as part of a joke from creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. The updated intro changes the familiar wording in Claypool’s vocals, giving one of television’s most recognisable openings a new gag.

Primus originally recorded the South Park theme for the series when it debuted in 1997, making Claypool’s return a fun callback to the show’s early years. The revised opening premiered on September 16, with the next episode scheduled for September 30 on Comedy Central.

GWAR brought a Donald Trump stage double into its chaotic Louder Than Life performance on September 17 in Louisville.

During the band’s Life Stage set at the Kentucky Expo Center, the costumed Trump caricature became part of GWAR’s trademark theatrical spectacle. Footage shared by Rock Feed shows the figure onstage as fake blood was sprayed towards the crowd, with anyone standing close enough getting a memorable reminder of what a GWAR show can involve. The band’s set began at 1:20 p.m. on the festival’s opening day.

Political figures have long appeared in GWAR’s elaborate stage performances, making the Trump character another entry in that tradition. The group’s deliberately outrageous live shows have turned political parody into part of its theatrical identity.

Sleep Token’s Even In Arcadia has officially passed one billion streams on Spotify, marking a huge milestone for the band’s fourth studio album.

According to ChartMasters, the album reached the milestone on September 10, roughly 16 months after its May 9, 2025 release. The ten-track record also marked Sleep Token’s first album for RCA Records, with songs including “Emergence,” “Caramel” and “Damocles” showcasing the band’s mix of vulnerable piano passages, heavy guitars and big pop hooks.

The demand for the album was already clear before fans had heard the full record. By release day, Sleep Token’s first U.S. headline arena tour had completely sold out, adding another sign of just how much anticipation surrounded this chapter of the band’s career.
