Another gorgeous Minnesota evening. This state has a big piece of my heart.

I’m anxiously awaiting retirement that is still a few years away. I’m doing the next best thing traveling and working remotely.

I visited Albany MN last weekend. I did not realize but I arrived in town in the middle of their Heritage Days. The town was so busy. They had a co****le games set up with some pretty fierce competition. There were many bounce houses and a climbing wall set. I believe I also saw a small petting zoo.

I really wanted to walk through the Lake Wobegon Trail Gallery but they were closed. Perhaps another trip there next year.

I like to pick a small family owned business to support while traveling. My husband and I always did this with restaurants. No chain restaurants allowed. In Albany, I found Griffin's Roost Book and Yarn Shop. I thought what a cool combination yarn and books. It is a very nice shop with amazing yarn colors and a nice book selection. They hold crochet and knitting classes along with craft and reading nights. I wish I had taken pictures of the inside of the store. I will definitely be back to visit next year.

I purchased the book Theo of Golden. I have heard so many wonderful things about this book. I’m anxious to read it.
