What do you do as an educator when what you know is right, fair, and just for all students comes into conflict with what you are told to do?
This is one of the most difficult questions educators can face. Every day, we are called to balance professional responsibilities with our commitment to serving every child with dignity, equity, and compassion.
Real leadership begins with reflection, courage, and a willingness to ask the hard questions.

Teachers don't just prepare students to take standardized tests. They prepare students to become positive members of society; they inspire them to do and be more than they could have ever imagined; they hold the future of Democracy in every word they speak. Society treats teachers like they don't understand how precious they are and how important their work is!

The true power of a teacher is not her ability to share content with her students, but her ability to share herself with them.

It would be great if, before a parent starts yelling at a teacher for how they responded to their child's behavior in the classroom, the parent would be willing to come into the classroom and see their child in action. .
