Nope she's not spoiled!
Today was a big milestone for Xena... her very first hydrotherapy session! 💜
The underwater treadmill was definitely a challenge for her, but that's exactly why we're doing this. It was her first time, and we know that progress comes one step at a time.
Her front legs still splay outward, making it difficult for her to stay balanced. Once we're able to get the elbow brace with shoulder support from her therapy wishlist, it should help keep her front legs in a much better position.
The biggest victory today wasn't how far she walked. It was how she walked.
Because of her brain injury, Xena has spent her whole life hopping like a rabbit instead of taking normal steps. Today, while on the treadmill, there were several moments where she took a step with one rear leg... and even a few moments where she stepped with both. Those may seem like tiny victories, but for Xena, they're huge. She's teaching her brain a brand new way to move after months of doing the only thing she knew.
We are so incredibly proud of this little girl. Every therapy session brings her one step closer to reaching her full potential.

🎉 GOTCHA DAY for our beautiful girl, Kima! ❤️🐺
Some dogs leave paw prints on your heart the moment they arrive. Kima was one of those dogs. 🐾
From the day she came into rescue, she was calm, gentle, and full of love. She wanted nothing more than to cover you with kisses, curl up beside you while you slept, and snuggle in bed as close as she could. She had the sweetest soul, and she truly made you wonder how a dog like her ever ended up homeless and sitting in a shelter. ❤️
Even though Kima was only with us for two weeks, it didn't take long for all of us to fall in love with her. 😍
A friend of ours had been patiently waiting for the right dog to come along. She was looking for a calm, loving companion, and the moment she came to meet Kima, it was obvious they had found each other. Kima adored her from the very first meeting, and we knew she had found exactly where she belonged.
The best part? This isn't really goodbye. We'll still get to see this sweet girl and watch her enjoy the life she has always deserved.
Happy Gotcha Day, Kima! Thank you for reminding us why we rescue. Go live your very best life, sweet girl. We love you! ❤️🐾
