Can we talk about crates for a moment?
After years of working with people and their pups, it’s clear that opinions on crating dogs can be wildly extreme. Some are for it, some are entirely against it.
With that being said, curious if you use one and if so, why? And for those that do not, why and what other means of physical structure/boundaries do you use instead to accommodate your dog?

“This is the best walk she’s ever had!”
These were this mornings words straight at the park in Des Peres. Zoe has been practicing protecting her mom on walks by being leash reactive in the presence of other dogs. Today was beautiful, relaxing and we were able to confidently walk passed other dogs while Kelly managed her own dog and Zoe finally let her.

What are some other behavioral reasons you’ve heard or experienced that cause a dog to lose their home?
Working a dogs ability to watch you move and not participate is challenging. Add another dog to the mix and Stella still keeps her composure and maintains her down and implied stay. Stella is a puppy with a mom who is dedicated to her success. 2nd class of intermediate in the books!
Teaching your dog to “leave it” is a pretty foundational skill. This dog and owner duo are A+ nailin’ it. Proper communication and timing are imperative to a successful relationship. Your dog is likely confused on the assignment if you spend more time telling them what they are doing wrong vs when they make good voluntary decisions.
Let’s teach your dog to come, the most important of all commands!

And that’s a wrap on an intermediate class for these pups and their amazing owners! So much growth from these dog and owner teams. From navigating reactivity to overcoming being shy, the last six weeks together have us waggin’!!!!!

You want results? You do the training.
We lay the foundation in class with one of your fellow dog classmates. You watch. Then you lay the foundation with your dog while we watch, provide suggestions and work together to get the results. Leave with homework and come back next week to do it again.
6 classes in and these puppies and their owners are dynamic duos. Super proud of their effort, dedication and commitment to their dogs. It shows🩷
