To our Evil Intentions family, fans, and everyone who has continued to follow us through every chapter of our journey…we have an important update to share.

Evil Intentions Haunted House will not be opening for the 2026 season💔

Before the rumors start flying…No, we are NOT closing, and this is NOT the end. This decision is being made because we believe strongly in the future and potential of Evil Intentions and what we know our haunt can become.

Some of you may have seen the recent press and announcements surrounding Evil Intentions potentially making its return to Elgin. We want you to know that it wasn't just talk! We've worked incredibly hard behind the scenes trying to make that return happen. There have been countless hours of meetings, planning, and work put into determining what the next chapter of Evil Intentions could look like. But throughout that process, one thing remained very clear: We do NOT want to rush this again.

When we made the move to Maple Park, we did something absolutely insane. We poured everything we had into taking a damaged building and worked towards transforming it into Forsaken Hollow in essentially ONE YEAR. Our team worked relentlessly to make it happen and somehow managed to get those doors open. We were incredibly proud of what our team accomplished in that amount of time and we never want that to go unrecognized.

But….we also heard you all loud and clear. Many of you loved what we created, but some of you told us something we haven't forgotten. "Take the time. Take a year off if you have to. Build it right. Come back bigger and better." At the time, taking an entire haunt season off seemed almost impossible to imagine, so we did what we could, and learned from it!

Between the timeline, the challenges that come with bringing a production like Evil Intentions to life, and the lessons we've learned from Maple Park, we believe taking a full year is what we need to truly come back better than ever. We aren't interested in rushing into a location or giving our team another impossible timeline. Most importantly, we aren't interested in giving you anything less than the Evil Intentions experience we know we're capable of creating.

To everyone who has followed us from our early days, to Elgin, to Maple Park, and through every twist and turn along the way, THANK YOU! 🙏🏽 You've watched our haunt evolve for years, called us out when we could do better, supported our actors and staff, and continued to support us in the best ways possible🖤

We hope that all of you enjoy your 2026 haunt season. Support your local haunted houses, go do the spooky season things, and keep following along because while our doors may not be opening this October, Evil Intentions isn't going anywhere.

There is a lot of work ahead of us and eventually, we’d love to start showing you what's next. When we finally turn those lights back on…We're not coming back quietly.
