Hag stones, also known as adder stones or witch stones, are smooth stones with a natural hole through them. In folklore and mythology, they are believed to have magical properties.
Here are some of the common magical purposes of a hag stone:
* Protection: They are said to ward off evil spirits, witches, and nightmares.expand_more Some believe they can protect from misfortune and illness.
* Divination: Looking through the hole in the stone was believed to allow one to see fairies or the spirit world, or to see through disguises.
* Healing: In some cultures, hag stones were believed to be helpful in healing snake bites or other ailments.
It’s important to note that these are just beliefs and there is no scientific evidence to support the magical properties of hag stones. However, they can still be interesting objects to collect or wear as jewelry.
