Syosset Flag Football

WE'RE BACK AT BAYLIS THIS SATURDAY! NO MORE RAIN!

It's Week 1, and flag football rules the day for every SFFL division!

Our Pre-K End Zone will be rocking again, with the trainers right in the action. Every division has grown as more families have signed up, and we can't wait to see everyone on the field.

Thank you for the incredibly positive words. So many families have told us that, "This is the league for everyone!"

Thank you for welcoming and helping build Syosset Flag. And a huge thank-you to the community and family sponsors who have jumped in to support our kids!

Grab your coffee, bring your cowbells, and come cheer on our SFFL kids! Tag us in your game-day photos — we love seeing you out there 📸

Saturdays are for Syosset Flag!

LET'S GO!

SFFL ORIENTATION DAY WAS ELECTRIC!

This past Saturday, Boys K/1, Boys 2/3, Boys 4/5, Girls K/1 and Girls 3/4 all rocked it! The weather was perfect, families filled the sidelines, and our incredible volunteer coaches arrived prepared, energized and ready to lead their teams.

But Pre-K was the talk of the day! Nearly 25 boys sat together, listened, learned and experienced flag football with some of the best coaches the game has to offer -our championship coaching staff @ Elevate Flag Football! Seeing that many young athletes focused, excited and ready to play was truly special.

Kids with no organized football experience showed up with their backyard skills and competed alongside experienced players. That is what SFFL is all about: every child deserves an opportunity to learn, compete, belong and play!

Due to the many requests from families interested in joining still, registration will remain open! There is still time for your child to become part of the SFFL family.

Get involved in your community and come see why everyone is talking about Syosset Flag Football!

We used to say, “Saturdays at Baylis are changing.”

Not anymore.

Saturdays in Syosset HAVE changed. The flag football movement has begun!

This is SFFL!

🏈 Welcome to the SFFL family, Krafty Hands!

“THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AN ELITE 8-YEAR-OLD.”

Some of us, including coaches and parents, need to hear this.

Dell Curry once pulled his sons, Steph and Seth, out of AAU basketball because he believed it was teaching them habits he didn’t want them developing. Instead, he brought them home, worked with them on the fundamentals and had them play in their community basketball league.

Steph and Seth Curry seem to be doing just fine today.

The belief that your child must play for a particular team, hire a certain trainer, attend every tournament or join the “best” program or else be left behind forever is simply not true.

Our children need time to develop. They need instruction, encouragement and the freedom to love the game. They should not have to carry the weight of their parents’ ambitions.

Every sports parent should ask themselves one question:

Does my child dread the ride home after a game?

If that is your child’s least favorite part of the week, something needs to change.

Youth sports should strengthen our relationships with our children, not damage them. Winning matters. Competition matters. Hard work matters. But none of those things matters more than our children knowing that we love and support them regardless of how they performed.

This message really hit home.

Get your children involved. Join a community league. Our kids deserve it.
