FishHawk TNR Animal Rescue

Happiest of Snowshoe Tails to our adorable Peet! Peet joined us in June along with his 2 brothers from a feral mama living on a farm. We were able to TNR mama back to her caregiver so that she didn't have to keep having litters and all 3 kittens socialized very easily! Peet is a confident and super affectionate little guy who stole many hearts and who we loved having with us! Today, he has joined his purrfect forever home! He has a new kitty sister named Phoenix, 3 human kiddos to grow up with and keep him company and awesome new human parents who will spoil him rotten! We can't imagine a more deserving little guy to land such a loving home where he will be so loved and so spoiled! Fostering and Adoption directly saves the lives of the most amazing local animals, like Peet, and finding them safe, loving homes continues to be our why! Wishing him and his wonderful new family many, many years together filled with lots of purrs, kitty shenanigans, and love! 🩵

➡️➡️Let's start with today's adventure. Knowing I have a longggg day ahead of rescue tomorrow (and an adoption, yay!) I thought, let me take a half day and run to Disney! (I have been a passholder for 22 years and it's my fave escape!) Dinner and some Galaxy's Edge can heal my bad days. Off to Orlando I trek for a late afternoon getaway, melting, in the 116 degree heat index I go.🫠

🐭 I arrive and get in line for Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway. (IYKYK) 🚂

🕜35 minute wait. 📞My phone starts blowing up. (It's always on vibrate, I run a rescue, there are no true days off lol) someone's at my door at my home. My ring camera is screaming at me. Normally, I don't look, between Chewy & Amazon, my cameras are always yelling at me. But alas. I open it up and see someone on my porch. Holding a kitten. (Whaaaaat!) I start chatting (whilst in line) with this good Samaritan. I give her my number. She found a kitten on the side of the road (Causeway) was he thrown? How'd he get there? Dumped? Who knows, he isn't feral so I wouldn't be surprised.) It's Saturday afternoon, no ones open, everyone's full. She was referred to our rescue by a local-ish vet office and found my house lol. But I'm in Orlando, so I SOSed our team and one of our volunteers in FH ran out the door to my house, an 20 minute ride mind you and we were able to take in this baby! (SG- you're a rockstar!)

🤦‍♀️🐈‍⬛What do we know so far? Kitten appears to be 6-7-ish weeks old. Emaciated. Upper Respiratory Infection. Fleas. Anemic. No doubt with intestinal Parasites. The works. He's filthy. (Or she, I haven't met them yet!) And obviously. Was meant to be with us!

🐾Spoiler- we have a large intake occurring tomorrow too. Stay tuned because we need help!

❤️‍🩹Anyway, kitten is safe with foster, had a small meal, a bath and starts antibiotics since I have them stocked. This is only made possible by our tiny but mighty team of literal angels, our fosters on deck ready and waiting and the support of our incredible village. My team truly never knows what is around the corner each day lol. Neither do I.

🙏To Michaela, this kitty's guardian angel, we are SO glad you found us (and we are so glad we could say yes!) And thank you for hanging out while I got a plan together impromptu. This is rescue life. This is my personal normal. And it's so gut-wrenching knowing how many are in need, but each one that finds us (and boy do they find us lol) is a gift to get to rescue! Rescue work is all consuming and I try to share these stories to kind of highlight the BTS reality of choosing to do this every day. I'm incredibly grateful for family and friends who understand, accept and support that my mission doesn't pause, take breaks or take a backseat. I'm a rescuer for life and even on the bad days, that will never change.

✨️Anywayyy! Attaching some pics. Our wishlists and a fundraiser. We will continue to fundraise tomorrow too with an urgent case coming in and then some, more on that later. But we have a good $2k to probably raise ahead of us.

💫Meet Kirby! This adorable fluffy white & tabby girl was born on 4/29/26 and is as cute as can be! She is so social & loving!

💕We have hand raised her in our rescue from 2 weeks old after her mama abandoned her. She has grown into such a loving little peanut! Her foster home has kids, cats and dogs and she is great with everyone! A sweetheart!

🌟Kirby is fully vetted, socialized and requires a kitty friend in her forever home. (All of our kittens require this unless medically or behaviorally noted otherwise.) .

🥰A HUGE & Heartfelt Thank You to Juan (and Stacy!) for their generosity this week and always, when they heard our plea and donated their time and expertise to giving our kitten room some much needed TLC! (That foster space has seen some thingsss! 🤦‍♀️)

🐾A fresh coat of paint and some wall repairs were beyond needed in this room where SO many homeless kitties filter through in our rescue as they journey from rescued to adopted!

🩵Juan was responsive, punctual, meticulous and incredibly skilled. On top of that, he is just an all around amazing human being! And so is his wonderful wife who has been a follower and supporter for years!

🐈‍⬛When we put out a plea for help, we were absolutely humbled to know that more than 1 person in the community offered their services and to each of you, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. It means the world to know our community supports the work we do here and this was a true gift. We can never thank each and every one who lifts up our work enough and there are just so many of you that we are beyond grateful for! 🥰
