Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal. Isaiah 26:4 I can get weary from the wear and tear of quadriplegic life, but this scripture calling me to trust in the Lord FOREVER, not just for a season, is a lifesaver. Nurturing a frequent, consistent, daily life of taking every concern to the Lord has allowed me to experience Him as my Rock. So thankful this has become a habit!!! Thank you for being so direct, Isaiah!

For the last 15 years, I've had the joy of presenting at the OC Rescue Mission with Pastor Bruce Sonnenberg and his wife, Joni. For privacy reasons, I'm not sharing faces from Sat. night's chapel time, but boy oh boy, I wish you could've been with us. There, by the grace of God, go I. This impactful rescue mission exists to minister the love of Jesus Christ to the Least, the Last, and the Lost of our community through the provision of guidance, counseling, education, job training, shelter, food, clothing, health care and independent living communities. Within the mission is Village of Hope which provides transitional and emergency housing for up to 262 homeless men, women, and children. Here, I was able to speak on "holding onto hope" to all the adults. It warmed my heart greatly to see & feel the Holy Spirit softening hearts and providing peace. Thank you Jesus! Please keep these families in your prayers for strength to take next positive steps. ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’›

Happy 250th Independence Day! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐ŸŽ‰ Congratulations United States of America! Thank you Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Robert Livingston and Roger Sherman for writing our Declaration of Independence! Thank you George Washington and ALL our Founding Fathers! Especially this morning I pray deep words of gratitude that these leaders knew their Almighty Father, giving them the courage and strength to unite the 13 British colonies, lead the American Revolution AND build the framework for the US government. Dearest Lord, will you please continue to protect and bless America? As Irving Berlin so faithfully wrote in song, "Stand beside Her and guide Her through the night with the light from above." YOUR light, dear God. Please flood Your light over every state, every county, every city and every person. AMEN! Last night, Mike and I watched a documentary on FDR rebuilding the USA between World War I and thru the middle of World War II. It was in his 4th term, yes his FOURTH term ๐Ÿ˜ฑ that he died, during World War II. We've come a long way (baby!) but we are still young. Let's all continue to work for the good of humanity and the USA asking our gracious Lord to continue to shed His light and His wisdom on all. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ™โ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Bet you didn't know July is National Wheelchair Beautification Month! I wasn't aware, yet my sister and I have been living in chairs for 38 & 31 years! It's lovely to celebrate the peace that comes with freedom of movement - something many of us take for granted. In 2002, I was in bed on my stomach for 7 months with a pressure wound. Prior to this, I always looked at my wheelchair as my enemy. But boy, after a few months stuck in bed, I remember looking over at my empty wheelchair saying aloud, "Well hello old friend. Wish I could hang out with you for a while." Then I laughed because I NEVER thought I would call my wheelchair my friend! For those of us who require extra assistance to get around and rely on wheelchairs as our primary source of mobility, it's important to spotlight this special month. If you have a friend or family member who doesn't have a way to clean up his/her chair, this would be a sweet month to offer your hands to do so! ๐Ÿฉต Flowers optional ๐Ÿ˜‚
