Thus far my clients have been on O'Reilly, Beck, Hannity, PBS, MSNBC, FOX News, Dr. Dobson and Phyllis Schlafly's radio show, not bad for a small shop. They have also been featured on radio and in newspapers and magazines, but for some reason, receiving TV time relates all the glitz of achievement. I specialized in family friendly, conservative and Christian media.
Today is Dolly Parton Day — 9/25, a wink at “9 to 5.”
Dolly didn’t just have a brand. She was the brand. Big hair, bigger heart, and a voice you recognized instantly. She never dimmed herself to fit the room. She made the room adjust.
That’s still the marketing lesson:
She owned her songs and her story.
She built worlds around them without leaving who she was.
She turned kindness into something that lasted — not a campaign that expired.
She stayed herself for six decades and somehow belonged to everybody.
Most brands chase relevance. Dolly made relevance come to her.
