Read between the Bars needs your help:
Since we started in 2007, Read Between the Bars (RBtB) has relied on the generosity of volunteers in the community to have space for our library. In that time, we have sent over 20,000 books to nearly 6,000 people in AZ prisons to provide entertainment, educational opportunities, and community connection. But, to keep up with this important work, we need a more permanent place for our library that is not connected to an individual volunteer’s home.
For the cost of two coffees a month, you can become a RBtB G.E.M. 💎
G.E.M. stands for Give Every Month. You contribution will help secure the funds needed to find and pay for for a permanent space for the library of RBtB!

We find all sorts of bookmarks in our donated books - recipes, wedding invites, postcards, movie schedules, airplane boarding passes, candy wrappers - if it's flat, it gets used.
Newspaper clippings aren't as common anymore, but they still show up. This one from nearly 70 years ago is notable.
