What a beautiful piece of machinery. This is exactly what I mean by story 👇🏽

The 1976 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight Regency coupe represented everything big American luxury once stood for. At 232 inches long and nearly 5,000 pounds, it was the longest coupe Oldsmobile ever built. Inside, deep pillow seats, rich upholstery, opera windows, and fender skirts made every trip feel like an event.

Under the hood sat the final version of Oldsmobile’s famous 455 Rocket V8, paired with a three-speed automatic. Thick construction and massive weight gave the car a solid feeling that modern luxury cars rarely match.

Then the downsizing era arrived. Cars became smaller, lighter, and more efficient, ending an age when luxury meant enormous size and heavy-duty construction. The Ninety Eight was more than a big coupe. It was one of the last reminders of when American cars were built to feel permanent.
