🚨 **SCAM ALERT FOR COLORADO CHIROPRACTORS** 🚨

CCA has received **multiple reports from Colorado chiropractors** about suspicious calls from individuals claiming to be with the DEA. We have received enough consistent information that we believe this is credible and important to pass along to our members.

Callers may claim that you are the target of an investigation involving a shipment ordered using your **NPI number**. They may provide a name, badge number, case number, or other specific information to make the call appear legitimate.

In at least one report, the scammer even used the **real name of a DEA employee**.

⚠️ The DEA has previously warned healthcare professionals about impersonation scams like this.

**If you receive a suspicious call, do not provide personal, financial, licensing, or practice information. Hang up and independently contact the DEA using official contact information.**

Please share this with your **front desk and office staff** so they know what to watch for.

Most personal injury cases settle before trial. But when a case does reach a Colorado courtroom, a treating chiropractor may become one of the most important witnesses the patient has.

Unlike a discovery deposition, trial testimony occurs in front of the people who will actually decide the case. Your job is not to advocate for the patient or “win” the case. Your job is much simpler: explain what you observed, what you did, why you did it, and the opinions you are qualified to give.

Good preparation can make that testimony significantly more effective—and make cross-examination considerably less intimidating.
