🐾 GRFR Alum Update — Mac! 🐾

Look who is doing AMAZING! 💛

Our handsome GRFR alum Mac is one happy boy and absolutely loving life with his family!

There’s nothing better than seeing our former rescue dogs happy, loved and right where they belong. These are the updates that make everything we do worthwhile!

🐾 Walter Update! 🐾

We love getting updates from our GRFR families, and it sounds like Walter is settling into his new life beautifully!

Walter is making great progress with his house training. His family even added bells to the back door, and he’s already using them about 80% of the time to let them know when he needs to go outside. Smart boy! He’s still working on a few accidents and sleeping through the night, but he’s learning more every day.

Crate training is also going really well. Walter goes into his crate without any trouble and has even started going in on his own when he wants to, a great sign that he sees it as his safe space.

He gets an evening walk every day and, best of all, he LOVES playing with his 5-year-old Golden sibling. The two are quickly becoming great friends! 🐶🐶

It sounds like this sweet boy is doing exactly what puppies do — learning, growing, playing and keeping his family busy!

Keep up the great work, Walter! We can’t wait to see what’s next for you. 🐾

🐾 Toby Update! 🐾

Hank....now Toby is settling into his new life and showing off ALL of his personality!

When we asked his adopter how he’s doing, one of the first things we heard was:

“He’s got MAJOR side eye!” 😂

And apparently, Toby has plenty more personality where that came from! He is playful, curious, food motivated, loving…and a TOTAL Velcro dog. ❤️

We love hearing how our GRFR dogs blossom once they’re home and comfortable enough to let their true personalities shine.

It sounds like Toby has found exactly where he belongs, right next to his people (probably watching them with that famous side eye). 😂🐾

Lainey has hit the jackpot! And is loving her forever family

Lainey, now Nala, is settling beautifully into her forever home!

Nala absolutely LOVES people, dogs and especially kids. She wants to be right in the middle of family life and always knows where her people are. She has also taken on the very important job of protecting her backyard from squirrels and bunnies!

She loves her walks, enjoys watching TV and isn't even bothered by thunderstorms. Toys are still a bit of a mystery to her, her family doesn't think anyone ever really taught her how to play. But on a recent camping trip, Nala discovered something she LOVES... playing in the river and chasing the fishing bobber! 🎣

She's also learning to live with her new cat sibling. It's a work in progress, but they're making progress every day, they even touched noses and sniffed each other!

Leash manners are another work in progress, especially when there are exciting smells, animals, people or dogs to meet. Her family is patiently working with her and giving her the time she needs to learn.

These updates are such a wonderful reminder that adoption isn't the end of a rescue dog's journey, it's the beginning of an entirely new one.

We can't wait to see what comes next for Nala! 🐾

From dumped and forgotten… to forever together. 🐾
Molly and Maggie were found dumped in rural Arkansas. Thankfully, a Good Samaritan found these two sweet girls and stepped in to help.

Sadly, both Molly and Maggie tested positive for heartworm a serious and potentially deadly disease if left untreated. Their journey wasn’t going to be an easy one, but they were finally safe and on their way to a brighter future.

Once they arrived in Colorado, Molly and Maggie were lucky enough to be fostered together in the same loving home while receiving the care they needed.

And today, we received the BEST NEWS EVER…

MOLLY AND MAGGIE ARE BEING ADOPTED TOGETHER! 🎉🐾

That’s right....it’s a DOUBLE FOSTER FAIL! These girls found their forever home without ever having to say goodbye to each other or to the family who helped them heal.

We want to send a huge THANK YOU to every single person who played a part in rescuing Molly and Maggie, from the Good Samaritan who found them, to the volunteers who helped along their journey, their veterinary team, our supporters, and especially their incredible foster family who opened their home and ultimately their hearts forever.

This is what rescue is all about.

Two girls. One incredible journey. One forever home. ❤️

🐾 Queenie & Miss Pinky Update -Now Athena & Astra!

These two sweet girls are doing great in their new home! Athena and Astra love being with their family and would happily accept pets and attention all day long.

Their personalities are really starting to shine. Astra has always been the outgoing one and is happy to get attention from just about anyone. Athena was much more shy and unsure of new people and dogs during her first few weeks, but her confidence is growing every day. She’s now becoming curious and wanting to meet new friends instead of turning away. Such wonderful progress!

They’ve also discovered TOYS! Both girls love carrying them around with their gentle “soft mouths,” but Athena has become quite the toy hoarder. If Astra drops a toy, Athena is right there to add it to her collection. 😂

Dog beds were another mystery. Astra finally decided to give one a try and discovered they’re pretty amazing. Athena still says, “No thanks!” and is perfectly happy with her blanket.

They’re working with a trainer, improving their leash skills and recently went on their first mountain hikes and both did great! 🏔️🐾

Watching breeder-release dogs experience all these “firsts” and become more confident is incredibly special. Athena and Astra are learning that life can be filled with family, adventures, toys, comfy beds (maybe someday, Athena!) and lots and lots of love.
