Been working a little bit on the Tartan Thistles Coaster Cross Stitch Kit by Textile Heritage.
My most important piece of advice regarding Textile Heritage kits is to read the instructions provided and follow them!
Tartan Thistles is a more complicated design and the instructions detail the “order of working”
Here’s the completed border so the next step is to stitch the grid which forms the tartan design.
Do not attempt to do the long stitch tartan background diagonals out of order!

Are you ready for some Halloween stitching?
It's definitely that time of year as we begin the countdown to All Hallows Eve.
Cryptid Culture features Mothman, Jackalope and Nessie The Loch Ness Monster!
Cozy Reading Cottage is perfect for using up scraps of Aida fabric and a great Halloween gift for young readers.
Happy Hauntings - love this jolly ghost trick or treating - not spooky at all!
And for those looking for something a little bit darker Serpent Sentinel gives off some extra special Halloween vibes.

USPS surprise increase for Rural Shipping Rates.
When ordering, it might actually be cheaper to select UPS rather than USPS so look at the different Shipping optionsgiven on your Shopping Cart.
I don't make profit on Shipping and charge at cost - customers are often surprised when they see I have refunded part of the Shipping cost if it's possible.
Hope everyone is finding time to stitch in these economically stressful times and remember that cross stitching is a cost effective hobby that provides hours of enjoyment and stress reduction.

As I hadn’t cross stitched for 5 weeks 🤯😕, I decided to go with something smaller and easier.
So here’s my choice- Tartan Thistles Counted Cross Stitch Coaster Kit by Textile Heritage.
Smaller because psychologically it’s a project that is easily completed and will grant the feeling of accomplishment after a relatively short amount of time.
Easier because you don’t have to kit it up finding the correct fabric, floss, needle - just start stitching! Even the floss is precut to easily manageable lengths.
The coaster is practical and obviously handmade with a rightful spot on our coffee table.
I’ve been very careful about the back of my work- see the difference between the starting stitch at the bottom with no loose floss in sight versus where I finished the length of floss (I need to carefully trim it off)
What do you think about this design?
What are you stitching today?
It's been a while for which we apologize and there was a reason for that which we will disclose in due course.
We've been very busy with these "other family matters" which goes to show that we are real human beings who own and run our website - no one else - just us.
We even placed the website on "Browse Only" temporarily but we're back and the website is open and accepting orders again!
Being totally honest, I haven't had time to pick up a needle in about 5 weeks but that will all change this evening as I select a brand new project because that always makes me happy.
Hope everyone is well and enjoying their crafty projects!
