Wiggly Tails Dog Rescue
Wiggly Tails Dog Rescue is a foster based rescue in Eugene, Oregon, that focuses on helping abandoned and surrendered dogs find their forever homes.
Every dog deserves a warm, forever home! Wiggly Tails focuses on small breed dogs, and occasionally bigger dogs. Our dogs come from the high-kill shelters in California, as well as local owner surrenders. All of the dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, and most are microchipped before going to their forever homes. (Puppies will require additional follow-up vetting on a schedule we provide.) We are always in need of foster homes! If you are considering opening your home to a dog, but you are not sure if it is the right time, why not foster a dog in need and test the waters? The more foster homes we have available, the more dogs we can save. Our adoption fees vary, depending on age and breed. Adoption fees help cover veterinary expenses (such as dental work, vaccines, unexpected illness, and preventative care) and allows us to continue saving lives. We try our best to find our dogs and puppies homes within the Eugene/Springfield area (or within a 60 mile radius) so a home visit can be made to insure proper placement, and for us to provide continued adoption support. Can you help a dog in need? We would love to hear from you!

Halloween Litter
15 Weeks, Cattle Dog mix
Webby (collage - top right) - spayed female, 7 lbs - this girl is sweet and a little sassy and independent. She doesn't let the big dogs give her any gruff and she's all tail wag all the time. She is the smallest and shows that there really is Chihuahua in the mix with her size and personality. She will likely be a small dog as an adult, under 25 lbs.
Witchy (collage - top left) - spayed female, 10 lbs - this girl is sweet and confident. She takes charge of situations with other dogs and loves getting human attention and snuggles. She will be a medium-sized adult dog around 30 lbs.
Pumpkin (collage - bottom center) - neutered male, 14 lbs - he is sweet and happy to meet people and get pets. He loves playing with toys and other dogs. He is smart and figured out how to use the cat door in his foster home to access the garage. His legs are a little stubby so he will likely be a shorter stature medium-sized adult dog between 30-40 lbs.
Boo (collage - bottom right) - neutered male, 15 lbs - he is sweet and comes to get snuggles with his foster family. He is also smart and observant and has a very calm demeanor. He has been observed "opening" the door to his crate in his pen and going in to settle down with a chew while the other dogs run around and play. He doesn't love need to be part of the action, and will likely make a solid and loyal companion. His legs are a little stubby so he will likely be a shorter stature medium-sized adult dog between 30-40 lbs.
Raven (collage - bottom left) - spayed female, 16 lbs - she is sweet and smart and loves other dogs. She is a little unsure about things sometimes but can be coaxed easily with treats. She will likely grow to be a medium-large adult around 50 lbs.
As herding breed mixes, these pups will need a good amount of daily exercise and solid training. They would make great walking/hiking partners and do well in a family. They will need homes with a fenced yard.
They are gentle and friendly, but we don't recommend them for homes with children aged 2 or younger. They are untested with cats, but should do fine with dog-savvy cats.

THE CUTEST UNDERBITE OF THE YEAR GOES TO...
Thor!
5 years, neutered male, 15 lbs
Long haired small breed mix
LIKES: Thor is a little velcro guy who loves nothing more than sitting next to or on top of his foster humans. He’s a great yoga dog who not only has mastered the upward dog and downward dog poses but also the backward bend pose.
DISLIKES: He dislikes loud noises and doesn’t love being in the car.
PERSONALITY TRAITS: Thor is friendly, sweet, playful but also super chill. He enjoys finding a spot in the sunshine inside, and running around the back yard with his foster dog brother. He does well on a leash.
POTTY TRAINING STATUS: 100%
CRATE TRAINING STATUS: His first choice would be the human bed but he does fine in a crate overnight. He also does well in his pen during the day for short periods if needed.
EXTRAS/MISC.: Thor has the cutest underbite, is a snorer and welcomes belly rubs anywhere and anytime. He may prefer to be the only dog, and has shown some resource guarding of his foster mom. No experience with cats or kids.
Thor is looking for a low energy quiet forever home where he can be his human’s shadow and live his best life.

Summer
1 year, spayed female, 16 lbs
Terrier mix
LIKES: Playing with other small playful dogs, running, being outside, treats and food, people (once she trusts them).
DISLIKES: Big energy dogs over 40 lbs. Being picked up by humans.
PERSONALITY TRAITS: Summer is a sweet girl still learning how to be a dog in a human world. She is very playful and has medium-high energy and loves being outside in a yard. She is athletic and can jump high and run fast. She has almost zero experience walking on leash and will need to work on this and would do best learning with another dog. She is crate trained and will settle without any fuss in a crate. She is alert and will bark when needed, but quickly responds to correction. She has decent recall in a yard. She is playful mouthy and will mouth hands when they are extended to pet her, but she is learning to just get pets instead. She will chase or bark at cats if they run but has zero aggression and would be fine with dog savvy cats. She is completely submissive and rolls on her back when she is unsure or wary of a situation.
POTTY TRAINING: Nearly 100% unless she is not crated and left out without the opportunity to go outside. She can use a dog door.
CRATE TRAINING: She likes her crate and runs into it at her foster home for a treat.
OTHER/MISC: She is not a lap dog. Summer is still learning how to interact with humans and is beginning to like getting some pets, and she dive bombs her foster mom a couple of times a day on the couch to get some pets. But she isn't one to fall asleep cuddling (yet). She needs a home with a fenced yard or fenced area, and another (under 40 lbs) playful dog that can help her with her confidence around humans. She has a lot of potential and is submissive and treat motivated. In time with some patience and a little training, she will be a great companion. She raised four sweet puppies and they found their homes, now it's her turn.
