The Office of Commissioner Rodney Ellis was proud to join Aldine AFT for the Elevate ED Houston Summit 2026. As home to many Aldine ISD families, Precinct One is strengthened by the educators, support staff, and school employees who serve our communities every day. We appreciate Aldine AFT's commitment to professional development and supporting those who help students succeed.

Juneteenth reminds us that freedom is not a single moment in history,but an ongoing commitment to justice, opportunity, and equality. As we commemorate the day when the last enslaved people in Texas learned they were free, we also recognize the work that remains to ensure every person can fully share in the promise of that freedom.

As the struggle for a more just society continues, so does our responsibility to meet it with courage, purpose, and action.

For 100 years, Riverside General Hospital has stood as a symbol of resilience, service, and progress in Houston’s Third Ward. As this historic institution starts a new chapter, its transformation has the potential to expand access to health care and public health resources for generations to come.

This weekend, the Office of Commissioner Rodney Ellis proudly joined the Juneteenth Parade in Acres Homes, a community with a rich history and deep roots in Houston’s story of resilience, freedom, and progress. Celebrating Juneteenth means honoring the past while continuing the work of advancing opportunity and justice for all.

Last week, the Office of Commissioner Rodney Ellis recognized Jacob Klementich at Commissioners Court. We are grateful for Jacob’s advocacy, his dedication to the community, and the joy he brings to Court.

Due to expected severe weather and the potential for flash flooding, tonight's Community Disaster Preparedness Event at Julia C. Hester House has been postponed.

We are working to identify a new date and will share additional information as soon as it is available.

- Avoid unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rain
- Never drive through flooded roadways: Turn Around, Don't Drown
- Check real-time rainfall, bayou levels, and flood conditions through the Harris County Flood Warning System
