Our unique, step-by-step programs are designed for individuals who:

• Are new to reading or have foundational skill gaps.

• Have found reading challenging in traditional settings.

• Prefer new concepts introduced in digestible segments.

• Benefit from highly organized and sequential learning.

• Seek to improve their basic reading comprehension for greater achievement.

As we transition into the fall season, we are reminded that a new season can also bring a new beginning.

For some, September is a time to return to routines. For others, it may be the time to finally pursue a goal that has been put on hold-improving reading skills, learning English, preparing for the GED, becoming more comfortable with technology, or simply gaining the confidence to move forward.

At Birmingham Jumpstart, we believe progress begins with one decision, one lesson, and one step forward.

As we enter the final months of the year, we remain committed to meeting learners where they are, providing meaningful educational support, and creating opportunities for people to learn, grow, and move forward with confidence.

To our students: Keep going. Your progress matters.

To our Jumpstarters, volunteers, partners, and supporters: Thank you for believing in this mission and helping us make a difference.

There is still much more work to do, and we are excited about what lies ahead.

Let’s continue to learn.
Let’s continue to grow.
Let’s continue to believe in what is possible!

One learner. One lesson. One step at a time.

With gratitude,

Stacey Brian Lewis
Executive Director

Hey Birmingham,

Help Birmingham Jumpstart Continue Changing Lives Through Literacy!

Every day, Birmingham Jumpstart helps adults in our community strengthen their reading, writing, English-language, and educational skills - while building the confidence they need to move forward.

But we can’t do this work alone.

We need our community’s support to keep these programs available to the adults who need them. A donation of any size can help provide learning materials, technology, educational resources, and the support our students need to succeed.

If you believe literacy can change a life, then please consider making a donation today.

Your support can help Birmingham Jumpstart continue opening doors to education, employment, independence, and opportunity.
