How precisely can you track barrier integrity in organ-on-chip models—without disrupting the culture?
This study demonstrates how real-time, on-chip TEER measurements captured:
Endothelial and blood–brain barrier maturation
Rapid barrier disruption following TNF-α exposure
Reproducible, hands-free monitoring in mono- and tri-culture models
Explore how EVOM™ Chip with embedded electrodes can help standardize barrier-function assessment for disease modeling, drug screening, and toxicity studies.

Ultra-low-volume delivery just got more flexible.
WPI is expanding the NanoFil™ family with three new syringe sizes: 5 µL, 25 µL, and 50 µL. These additions give researchers more options for precise microinjections while maintaining the gas-tight, zero-dead-volume performance that has made NanoFil™ a trusted choice in neuroscience, ophthalmology, gene therapy, and drug development.

The new 5 µL NanoFil™ syringe is designed for applications where dosing accuracy, reagent conservation, and tissue preservation are critical, while the new 25 µL and 50 µL options provide greater flexibility across a wider range of experimental protocols.

Applications include:
- Retinal gene therapy
- Intravitreal and subretinal injections
- Optogenetics
- CRISPR-based therapeutics
- Cell-based therapies
- Stereotaxic brain injections
- Ocular drug delivery research
Learn more about the expanded NanoFil™ portfolio and how WPI continues to support researchers tackling the next generation of precision therapeutics.

What makes a tungsten carbide hemostat worth the upgrade?
It isn't simply that tungsten carbide is harder than stainless steel. The real advantage is how well the instrument maintains its gripping performance over time.
Tungsten carbide inserts resist wear at the jaw surface, helping preserve the geometry responsible for a secure, consistent grip. And as a general rule, tungsten carbide surgical instruments performing the same work can last up to five times longer than comparable stainless steel instruments.
Our latest article looks at the materials science behind tungsten carbide hemostats and when the additional investment makes sense.

That rust-colored stain on a stainless steel instrument might not be rust at all.
Dried blood, bio-debris, cleaning chemistry, water spots, excessive heat, and other processing conditions can all cause discoloration that may be mistaken for corrosion.
So how can you tell the difference?
A simple pencil eraser test can help. Remove the discoloration and inspect the surface underneath. If the steel is smooth and intact, you're likely dealing with a stain. If you find pitting or permanent surface damage, corrosion has occurred.
Our latest guide looks at common stain colors, what may cause them, and how to determine whether an instrument can be cleaned or should be replaced.
