Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump has opposed Israel’s occupation of the occupied West Bank, stating that stability in the region is the only guarantee of Israel’s security.

According to a foreign news agency, a White House official has confirmed that President Trump does not support Israel’s occupation of the West Bank.

The official said that stability in the Palestinian territories aligns directly with the United States’ objective of establishing peace in the region. The Trump administration considers stability in the West Bank essential to the success of its ongoing efforts to promote peace in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, the British government has also strongly condemned the Israeli cabinet’s decision to expand the occupation in the West Bank.

In a statement issued by the British government, it said that attempts to unilaterally alter the geographical structure of Palestine are unacceptable. Such actions are in violation of international law.
