Meet Waylon! 🐾

This handsome Beagle was found as a stray in Chester, SC, and fortunately found his way to rescue. We don’t know much about his past, but we do know this: Waylon is incredibly lovable.

His foster mom, who has been fostering for years, says he’s one of the sweetest and snuggliest dogs she’s ever had. He’s outgoing, confident, affectionate, and would happily spend all day curled up on your lap if you let him.

Waylon is a very connected little guy who loves being part of the action. He gets along wonderfully with his foster’s dogs and cats and has happily welcomed visiting dogs and people into his world.

Like many Beagles, Waylon has an enhanced“let’s go explore!” instinct. He’s smart and curious and will look for opportunities to find a weak spot in a fence. His forever family will need to be diligent about yard safety.

Overall, Waylon is a happy, playful, affectionate little guy who is ready to be someone’s best friend, shadow, and professional snuggle buddy. ❤️

Re-Introducing Carl Dean! 🐾

This handsome little 6 lb Poodle mix just got a groom and is looking so much better!

Carl was rescued with his packmate, Dolly. Both have officially retired from the breeding life and are discovering just how wonderful it is to be loved, cared for, and part of a family. ❤️

Carl is currently in a foster home with his foster mom, two twenty-somethings, two other dogs, and a cat. He’s a sweet little guy who was shy and nervous at first, but warmed up quickly. Once he feels comfortable, he loves being with his people and is definitely a little Velcro dog. He can be a nervous barker when something is unfamiliar, but settles down as he gains confidence.

Because Carl is small and can be nervous around loud noises and sudden movements, we think he would do best in a home without young children.
Carl is an adaptable little guy who will continue to blossom with patience, consistency, and time.

Bear and Angel got the vet care they needed today and are already feeling so much better, thanks to your support.

They are the latest recipients of Worthy Dog’s Community Vet Care Fund, established in 2018 to help loving dog owners of limited means cover urgent and unexpected veterinary expenses.

This is a cause that’s close to our hearts. We believe that every dog we can help keep happy and healthy in a loving, supportive home is another dog saved.

Their owner, Melissa, reached out to us through another family we previously helped. She lost her job last year after taking time off to care for her sick father before he passed away. Her dad had helped her with veterinary expenses, and now that he’s gone and she hasn’t been able to find another good job, she’s been struggling to afford the care her dogs need.

Bear and Angel were both seen by the vet yesterday. They received full exams and updated vaccinations, were treated for ear infections, and were given heartworm and flea preventatives. Bear was also given pain medication for his injured paw and limp.

Adopt Boomer! 🐾

This handsome bully boy is the ultimate adventure buddy and four-legged sidekick.

He loves hiking, road trips, swimming, wineries, cookouts, and pretty much anywhere his people are headed. He’s a dream in the car and just as happy snuggling on the couch afterward.

Boomer is affectionate, housetrained, crate trained, and has great house manners. He has a moderate energy level and enjoys walks but is still working on his leash skills. He can get excited when meeting other dogs, but with the right confident handler, he moderates and listens.

He has successfully lived with other dogs, but he does well as an only dog too. Our trainer recently watched Boomer for a few days while his foster family traveled, and she had him fully integrated into her pack of four dogs.

Worthy Dog will donate a free training session to his new family to help Boomer have a smooth transition.

This is a cool dog. He’ll make an incredible companion for someone who wants their dog to be part of their everyday life and by their side for whatever comes next. Bully lovers, please apply today! ❤️

Meet Penny! 🐾

This adorably little pup came to Worthy Dog Rescue when her owner was moving and could not take her. Thankfully, we had a foster home open, and Penny is now learning all about home life with an awesome family and their pack.

Penny was timid when she arrived, but she is coming out of her shell and doing well with the other dogs. She’s a playful puppy who loves to snuggle with her people and has plenty of typical puppy energy. She does like to chew, so her foster family keeps an eye on her and makes sure tempting things are out of reach.

She’s still shy with new people and needs a little time to feel comfortable. She is almost fully potty trained and knows to go potty outside, and she does well in her crate when she can see her people and sleeps through the night. When left alone, she gets nervous and drools, but she is not destructive in her crate.

Penny is a sweet, snuggly girl who just needs a patient family to help her continue building confidence. ❤️
