Are apes our ancestors?

Genesis begins with a very different picture of our origins and what it means to be human. Humanity isn’t presented as an accident or simply another branch on the evolutionary tree. Men and women are created intentionally and uniquely in the image of God, given purpose and a place within His creation.

At the Creation Museum, we explore how the biblical account of Creation compares with naturalistic evolution, and why what you believe about the beginning shapes how you understand human identity, dignity, and purpose. The museum’s exhibits trace this biblical story from Creation through Christ and the restoration of all things.

On this 25th anniversary of 9/11, we remember the victims, the heroes, and the loved ones who suffered agonizing loss. The world changed so quickly in the wake of tragedy.

Take a moment to pray for our country, its first responders, veterans, and for a spiritual awakening that points to the Prince of Peace – the Lord Jesus Christ.

First published in 1690, the New England Primer became the standard textbook for generations of American children. By the early 1800s, an estimated three million copies were in print.

Students used it to learn reading, arithmetic, and the alphabet, but its lessons were inseparable from Scripture.

The Lord’s Prayer and Ten Commandments were also included. For these students, learning to read meant learning to read the Bible.

At Museum of the Bible, the New England Primer can be seen on one of Inspire's daily guided tours. This book opens a much larger window into colonial America and the place Scripture once held at the center of education.

When the Pilgrims boarded the Mayflower in 1620, they brought their Geneva Bible and a desire to build a community shaped by Scripture.

They had intended to settle in Virginia, but storms pushed their ship far off course. Without a clear legal authority governing their new settlement, the passengers entered into what became known as the Mayflower Compact.

Their voyage had been undertaken “for the glory of God and the advancement of the Christian faith.”

On an Inspire tour at Museum of the Bible, guests discover how the Bible shaped not only the personal faith of early Americans, but also the way they understood community, responsibility, and government. https://inspire.org/tours/museum-of-the-bible

The Washington Monument is one of the most photographed landmarks in Washington, DC, but one of its most interesting details can't be seen from the ground.

Do you know what words are written at the top?

The capstone bears the Latin inscription "Laus Deo" which translates to "Praise be to God." It's a reminder that George Washington often spoke of God's providence and believed gratitude belonged at the heart of public life.

We love sharing these insights with guests on Inspire's DC Monuments Tour.

The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial is one of the newest memorials on the National Mall, but its story stretches across generations.

Its location is intentional. Positioned between the Jefferson Memorial and the Lincoln Memorial, it reflects the connection between the ideals expressed in the Declaration of Independence, Lincoln's fight to preserve the Union and end slavery, and King's pursuit of equal justice under the law.

On our DC Monuments Tour, we explore those connections and the life of a pastor whose conviction shaped one of the most influential movements in American history.
