Running on fumes⌠but still moving forward.

Training Readiness: 15
Translation?
My system is waving a white flag đłď¸
But hereâs the truthâŚ
Not every âpushâ looks like a workout.
Today isnât about miles, reps, or splits.
Today is about discipline in a different form.
No training. No ego lifts. No chasing numbers.
Instead:
⢠Recovery
⢠Reset
⢠Refuel
Because tomorrow deserves a better version of me.
That said⌠rest doesnât mean idle.
While my body recharges,
both businesses are callingâloud.
And just like my kids,
they need consistency, attention, and leadership to grow.
So I show up.
Focused. Intentional. A little tired⌠but still dangerous.
Because grit isnât just grinding in the gym.
Itâs showing up where youâre needed most, even when youâre drained.
Train hard. Recover harder. Build relentlessly.
Tonight, we reload after the Bulls vs Wizards game at Capital One Arena. đ
For this U.S. Army Combat Vet, grateful doesnât quite cover it.
This weekend, I had the honor of attending the Vietnam Welcome Home Walk & Concert hosted by Veterans United Foundation đşđ¸
Huge thank you to my amazing realtor and milspouse, Riley (not my wife đ), for the invite. The timing couldnât have been more meaningful. It gave me the chance to celebrate two things at once:
âď¸ Closing the chapter on the sale of my home
âď¸ Honoring the men and women who never got the welcome home they deserved
And thenâŚthis.
Inside our veteransâ lunchboxes from Mission BBQ was a letter that stopped me in my tracks:
âWelcome Home⌠You are seen, appreciated, and deeply respected.â
Simple words. Heavy impact.
Because for many Vietnam Veterans of America, those words came decades late.
The day kept deliveringâŚ
đşđ¸ The The United States Army Band took the stage
đ¤ Three women soldiers performed Travelinâ Soldier (yeahâŚthat one hits different live)
And just when you think it couldnât top thatâŚwe were moved upfront to watch Gary Sinise (A fellow Chicagoan) and the . Dan Band perform.
Unreal.
This wasnât just an event. It was a moment of correction. Of respect. Of finally saying what shouldâve been said all along:
Welcome Home.
Proud to stand in that space. Proud to be part of this community.
