Another new image? What is this? There has not been so many new ones in a while, where is the inspiration coming from?

Well, yes, I produced another new image, and like previous ones this is a major revamp of a previous idea I had at one point, created many years ago.

It was a room filled with gold bars simply named, "The Gold Room", this being back when I created a lot of images with the word "the" in the title and some of them were rooms of some sort. Over the last month, I took that concept and did with it what I would not have been able to do before. A lot of value here, but the gold may not be the only thing that is valuable for long (despite more golden objects coming in).

What are the shimmering glass-like objects with the red tones? They are not diamonds, but rather something else that is precious and every bit as valuable, demonstrating that while gold is definitely a rather reliable store of value, it is not where it ends.

Introducing, Valuable as Gold.

A quickie, but it was very satisfying in how it came out. It has been a long while since I have worked on something fairly atmospheric and contrasting by nature and so we have this hall enshrouded in darkness.

It has been a long journey of uncertainty, yet the light leading to a much better future is just ahead. It almost appears surreal that the place you are looking for is just ahead. The light blinds, but there is no turning back on the idea of finding a better way.

While the intent is not the same as Escalators to Heaven, it has the similarity of travelling and finding a place of peace, joy, and fulfillment. Where worries fall away and there is no concern to endure anymore. It is done, and once you go through that door you will not have to return.

Introducing; Road to Victory.

Following the money a little more. Someone at work came up to me and was interested in purchasing an image if it depicted a donut.

Well, I took that and made an entire case of donuts in their sugary, calorie-packed glory, in a nicely kept donut store and with many options from which to choose.

While it was a little bit of a challenge to get the layering of the dough and the sugar correct in order to bring about the most appetizing treats possible. It worked out well and I think she will like what is offered here, especially with something extra added in since a simply generic depiction would not cut it.

Without further ado... Sugaropolis

As I continue with these summer booths at the Maize Farm and Art Market, I have received questions from others regarding if I had images regarding a certain subject. Last year it was led to me creating the image of the train. This year, I was asked if I had any images reminiscent of Kansas outside of just My Yellow Sunflower.

Well, as part of following the money, but not to the point of making everything seem like they just came off of a factory conveyor belt. I thought and figured that the single most unique aspect of the state that could go into a picture is the beautiful emerald, green rolls going into the horizon known as the Flint Hills.

Now the actual name is not in the title itself, because I wanted to create something that reminds people of that, but not in a way that attempts to limit the potential audience to those of a specific interest. Trying to avoid a completely empty landscape of grassy hills with a bush scattered here and there, it is buffeted by a walking trail in the foreground, an outbuilding and pond in the midground, and a few larger bushes and another old fence in the background shrouded in a little haze. Trying to balance the sparseness that contributes to its beauty with enough detail to make it interesting.

Without further ado...Emerald Horizons

Hello. I am taking a short break from the Chipboard series now that I have gotten two thirds of the way through. Working on things that might be relevant to what people are looking for when they search through my coasters and matted prints to see what they want to buy.

For instance, working to unveil a new image for our country's 250th anniversary in time for the 4th, though in a way that does not intend to simply go with the standard design that a lot of products in this category are inserting.

This is in part to set it up as the spiritual successor to one of the first images I ever made more than 20 years ago, with red, white, and blue firework effects but also coupled with a plaza of marble structures and lush landscaping. As would be expected, it is far more detailed and varied than those very simple images back then (though I was pumping out one per day back and I did not know at the time that I could turn it into a business, who knew).

Now I honestly do not know what the future holds and whether I will even be able to make a successor to this one in 20 years, but as long as the software allowing for actual, original work, continues to exist and continues to allow me to just work without having to fight it instead, then the art will keep something.

Without further ado... Life, Liberty, and 250 Years.

Number 8, just in time to also put in an announcement that Maize Art at the Amphitheater begins at 5 this afternoon. Fortunately, it does not look like it will be hot and sultry anymore by then. The splash pad for those needing a spot to drop off their kids before shopping should be open as well.

Numeral 7. 7 7's, my sister's home feels like 7th heaven with her new daughter.

I am sure more puns can be made, but the image is done. More than halfway there.

The 6th installment.

I also have plans to attend the Maize Farm and Art Market monthly this summer barring any sudden issues that come up. Since there remains no sign of Heartspring doing any more events that involve vendors as opposed to just formal gatherings, this is an opportunity that should not be passed up.

The 5th installment. I already have an idea for the 6th one. Stay tuned.

Happy Mother's day, in which the significance of is usually underestimated since it does not get the same attention as Christmas and Easter. However, in an age where things that are downright obvious to us is otherwise giving the appearance of becoming lost knowledge in real time, everything that you think should not require a reminder actually do require it.

Also, I have another subject to mention as well. There was news last week that a second MOXI Junction is under construction in Kechi (yes, it is finally expanding after a decade). I do not know what the policy will be on who can be vendors there, but there might be a chance that it could allow my work to be displayed to a lot of people who have otherwise not seen it that much, though I will understand if the focus is ultimately on those who create art and other crafts in that area as opposed to having the same people. This has actually been a long-term goal for a long while now, but it appears the rule of thumb these days is that the vast majority of goals will take longer than anticipated, and you can consider it a blessing if things actually do end up working in the timeframe you wanted.

I am currently figuring out how to keep moving with the Chipboard series, and maybe some of them will wind up on coasters this Summer.
