POV: You get the dreaded call from the principal and it’s not for your kid… it’s for your dog. ��

I honestly didn’t even know “dog school suspension” was a thing until today, but here we are. Apparently, being a cute, fluffy Shiba Inu in a sherpa fleece doesn’t give you a free pass to break the rules. The teacher called and said he had to be picked up immediately for “disruptive behavior” (which I’m choosing to interpret as being too much of a vibe for the other students to handle).

The teacher sent us this video of him waiting for my husband to arrive, and I actually can’t cope. The way he’s just sitting there, leaning against the chair with his little paw on the box, looking like he’s rethinking every life choice that led him to this moment… it’s the sheer audacity for me. He looks like a tiny fluffy convict waiting for his bail to be posted.

He isn’t even sad; he just looks inconvenienced. Like, “Oh, so we’re really doing this? We’re calling Dad over a little bit of zoomies and a minor disagreement over a tennis ball? Dramatic.” He’s officially on a 3-day hiatus from academia to “reflect on his actions,” which mostly just means three days of extra naps and judging us from the sofa.

If you need us, we’ll be spenting the weekend enrolling in remedial “How to be a Good Boy 101.” Honestly, I’m not even mad, I’m just impressed at the level of main character energy he exudes while being fundamentally in the wrong.

Sometimes life throws storms our way, floods our streets, and challenges our spirit but then you come across moments like this and realize joy can still be found even in the most unexpected places. ���

Here’s a man, pedaling his way through a flooded city street, not letting the circumstances bring him down, and right by his side? His loyal four-legged best friend, splashing along, tail wagging, living his absolute best life. ��

It’s such a simple reminder that perspective changes everything. Where some see only devastation, others find a way to smile, adapt, and make memories. Life isn’t always about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning how to ride your bike through it with your dog cheering you on. ��

I love how dogs just get it, they don’t dwell on yesterday or worry about tomorrow. They embrace the puddles, the chaos, the mess, and turn it into playtime. Maybe we could all use a little bit of that attitude. ��

To me, this isn’t just a funny video—it’s a message: when things get tough, try to find your moment of joy. Laugh, play, dance in the rain (or ride your bike through the flood). Because happiness is rarely about perfect circumstances, it’s about how you choose to see them. �

It’s hard to wrap my head around the fact that anyone could look at a hungry, vulnerable soul and respond with anything other than kindness—let alone cruelty. This sweet boy went looking for a scrap of food and a moment of mercy at a bar, only to be met with rocks thrown at him. He arrived at our door literally shaking and with tears in his eyes, finding his way to my grandma as if he knew that was where he would finally be safe.

It breaks my heart to think about how long he must have wandered, wondering why the world was so cold. But the cycle of hurt ends here. We’ve decided to take him in and give him the life he actually deserves—one filled with warmth, full bellies, and hands that only ever reach out to pet him, never to hurt him.

Watching him settle in by the fire, it’s clear he’s finally starting to realize he doesn’t have to run anymore. Some people may have failed him, but he’s found his family now. He’s home.
