September 18 is National HIV/AIDS and Aging Awareness Day, a time to recognize the growing number of older adults living with HIV and the unique challenges they face. More than half of people living with diagnosed HIV in the United States are aged 50 and older, yet HIV testing remains far less common among older adults, which often leads to late-stage diagnoses.

At Hunter Health, we offer free and low-cost HIV testing for patients of all ages, because early diagnosis and ongoing care lead to better health outcomes.

Today, our team hosted the American Heart Association for a tour of Hunter Health. We shared news about our HRSA Heart Health Badge and discussed future partnership opportunities, including possible CPR and lifesaving courses through the Central to Wellness Campaign!

This week, we welcomed U.S. Senator Roger Marshall to Hunter Health to learn more about our 50 years of serving the Wichita community and to hear about what our patients and community need today - including strong, stable funding for community health centers and the 340B program, which helps us provide affordable medications to our patients.
