A 19-year-old pre-school teacher from Diamond has been arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm following an incident in Villa.

Police identified the accused as Isis Samuel. The charge, laid on September 2, 2026, stems from an incident reported on September 1 involving a 23-year-old junior clerk from Fair Hall.

According to police investigations, Samuel allegedly pulled the victim to the ground, causing actual bodily harm.

Samuel appeared before the Biabou Magistrate’s Court, where she pleaded not guilty. Her existing station bail conditions remain in effect.

The matter has been adjourned and transferred to the Calliaqua Magistrate’s Court, where it is scheduled for hearing on September 8, 2026.

Dr. Drew was initially admitted to the University Hospital of Martinique after experiencing severe headaches and nausea. Medical examinations at the facility confirmed a stroke diagnosis. Following prompt emergency treatment, medical professionals successfully stabilized his condition and indicated that he is not expected to suffer lasting long-term effects.

The Prime Minister departed Martinique on Wednesday to undergo further comprehensive evaluations in Florida.While the Office of the Prime Minister in Basseterre confirmed Dr. Drew’s departure for medical attention and reassured the public that he remains alert and stable.

The government has not yet released a detailed medical bulletin officially confirming the stroke diagnosis. In the interim, Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Geoffrey Hanley has assumed the role of acting prime minister to ensure continuity of government operations.

Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Terrance Drew, is being flown overseas for specialised medical observation following a health scare that led to his admission to JNF General Hospital on Sunday, August 30.

Dr. Drew was admitted after experiencing a headache, mild nausea and discomfort. He was monitored for approximately 18 hours and remains awake, alert and stable, according to medical information released on his condition.

Following the assessment, doctors recommended that he receive further specialised monitoring abroad as a precaution. Arrangements are underway for his transfer.

A further official update on the Prime Minister’s condition is expected at 7:00 p.m. AST today.

Prayers and well wishes continue to be extended to Dr. Drew as he receives further medical care.
