We’re taking part in GiveOUT Day 2026, Australia’s national giving day for LGBTQIA+ causes on 15 October.
We’re aiming to raise $30000 to bring together advocates for the Darlington Statement's 10 year anniversary to work towards a future where every inters*x child lives with dignity, safety and belong to a community for support.

Kylie Bond (IPSA coordinator) and Patricia Waghorn (board member) took part in the 2026 Genetic Alliance Australia Annual Forum at NSW Parliament House last night. Hosted by Hon. Minister David Harris, NSW Minister for Medical Research, it was a great opportunity to meet groups and researchers

Narrow biological definitions of s*x harm many women with inters*x traits - including women who have undergone medical interventions in public hospitals without their consent, on the basis that public servants define them as female and they should look more "normal". Proposals to legislate biological s*x layer one injustice on top of another.

We welcome publication by the Australian Capital Territory government of a first annual report of the Variations in S*x Characteristics Restricted Medical Treatment Assessment Board. It offers an unparalleled and timely disclosure of medical interventions on children with innate variations of s*x characteristics.
The report was published a few months ago so we acknowledge the delay in sharing.

🏳️🌈 Congratulations to Tony Briffa, named Person of the Year at the 12th Victorian Pride Awards!
A long-standing LGBTIQ+ advocate, Vice President of InterAction for Health and Human Rights and Patron of Equality Australia, Tony has spent decades advocating for the rights, dignity and bodily autonomy of inters*x people.
Her tireless advocacy has helped drive historic change. In February 2026, the Victorian Parliament passed landmark reforms making it the first Australian state, following the ACT, to ban unnecessary, deferrable medical interventions on inters*x children without their consent.
We’re incredibly proud to celebrate Tony’s leadership, courage and the lasting impact of her advocacy.
