Hurray! The refreshed Ann Arbor Sports Commission brand and logo is born! 🎉

The BODIES IN MOTION issue of Magazine details the different ways motion shapes our lives — from ideas to machines to the human form. In the feature story “Making Things Move,” we explore a timeline that showcases some of the more interesting bicycle, locomotive and automobile powertrains in The Henry Ford’s transportation collection that have put machines in motion. When we designed the layout for this feature, we took inspiration from the gears and chains that put things in motion — circles of all sizes, arrows big and small — fill the pages.

In the feature story “Greater Than the Sum of Our Parts,” we explore how modern prosthetic devices don't just replace missing limbs; they fill in blanks about societal conceptions of disability. When we designed the layout for this feature, we played off of visuals from the photos of Paralympic athletes running on a track and an icon set was created for a sidebar about consumer bionics — the wearable devices we use today to track vitals.

LiverNOISE Porchfest is a neighborhood concert in Ferndale, MI, where local bands play music from their porches, turning the streets into a vibrant, musical celebration. 🎸🎤🥁 It’s kind of badass that we can brand, help organize, sponsor, and even perform in this super fun event. Money raised from sales of the koozies and other merch goes to Focus Hope, making it even more special. ❤️

Octane Design had the incredible opportunity to work with Visit Detroit on branding the Detroit Throwdown event at Connect Detroit, one of the biggest tradeshows for the destination marketing industry. 🌟

Our mission? Infuse every aspect with an authentic Detroit vibe, celebrating the city's rich music history. From Motown to techno, Detroit's musical legacy was the heartbeat of the event. 🎶🏙️

We themed three iconic venues—Huntington, The Fillmore, and Union Assembly along with Columbia Street next to Union Assembly—each pulsating with the sounds and spirit of Detroit. 🎸🎤

The results? A resounding success! The buzz from this event still echoes through the industry, with people talking about the unforgettable experience years later. 🚀👏

❗We're thrilled to share the complete redesign of the website! Located on Michigan's picturesque west coast, Ludington is a gem known for its stunning beaches, vibrant downtown, and rich cultural heritage. However, their old website was outdated, unattractive, and confusing, failing to capture the true essence of this beautiful destination.

The previous website didn't do justice to Ludington's charm. Visitors found it hard to navigate, with a outdated design that didn't reflect the area's lively spirit.

🎧The beats, tempo, and energy created by techno create a bond with the listener, fusing the mind with the rhythm. Wouldn't you agree? 🎶💓

In honor of from , which erupts in the Motor City every Memorial Day weekend, we wanted to share this gem we put together with several years ago. With artist flowing over energetic footage blending Detroit's techno roots with its storied challenges, and featuring iconic Detroit label , we had a fantastic time directing a sequence to be remembered. 🎥✨

We also wanna give a shoutout to the brilliant artist for showcasing her creative talents in the video! 🎨🙌

Detroit is the birthplace of techno, and the story must never be overlooked! 🌆🔊

🤘🤙👌The Detroit Sports Commission is crucial to the city on two fronts. First, they bring sporting events to the city, and as sports fans, we are grateful. Second, and perhaps more importantly, they give back to the city with revenue from sporting event management.

We were honored to design and install the branded graphics for their Community Impact Draft. Some time ago, we designed their identity and built on that identity to make this event the very best it could be. With an A-list of key players in attendance, it was a huge success! 🤘🤙👌

🏈🏈🏈 Episode 2 from NFL Draft in full swing! We are so proud of our city for hosting this monumental event and grateful for the sport fans nationwide that came to show their love. Our Lions had a fantastic season last year, and it was the perfect backdrop for the Draft. Even though we were so very busy, we are now saddened that it's over. Millions of memories were made in the Motor City, and we made many of our own! ❤️

We got some extra footage of the D-Rover as Bill filmed out of the back of his car and Brandon navigated. Nothing like putting yourself in the action to get the action. Move over Tom Cruise! 🚙
