Every parent who wants the opportunity to work should have access to affordable, quality care for their children.
✅ MI Tri-Share helps make child care more affordable by splitting the cost between the employee, employer, and state.
✅ MI Care-Share gives employers a new way to support working parents by covering one-third of their employees’ child care costs.
✅ Great Start Readiness Program provides free pre-K to all Michigan 4-year-olds, helping children get ready for kindergarten and beyond.

I support giving parents more choices and making it easier for Kalamazoo and Allegan families to find the care and education that works for them.

🚫 Wall Street can no longer buy up single family homes. I'm standing up for Kalamazoo and Allegan County homebuyers.

Happy 60th Anniversary to Kalamazoo Valley Community College!

I appreciated the opportunity to tour the campus this week and discuss the expansion of Michigan Reconnect in the state budget, which helps eligible adults earn a tuition-free college degree or certificate.

Increasing access to career and technical education gives students more pathways to good jobs and helps build a stronger future for our communities.

It was an honor to attend today’s memorial ceremony commemorating the 25th anniversary of September 11. We gathered to remember the lives lost, honor the courage of the first responders and ordinary Americans who stepped forward, and reflect on the enduring strength of those who carried on.

My special guests were: Chief Darrien Smith, Officer Evan Finch, Chief Patrick Doran, FOP President Tim Randall, FOP Vice President Robert Smith, Sheriff Richard Fuller, Pastor Eric Jones, and Pastor Alexa Jones.

May we always remember. May we always honor their sacrifice. And may we never forget.

I’m working to lower the everyday costs families face.

Loyal customers shouldn’t be punished with higher prices. I voted to prohibit insurers from using “price optimization” to charge you more simply because they think you’re unlikely to shop around for a better rate.

I also voted to expand access to lower-cost E15 and E85 fuels, which would save drivers money while supporting Michigan farmers.

Lower costs. Fairer prices. More money back in Michigan families’ pockets.

Medical care shouldn't bankrupt local families.
I'm working to expand access to care and bring costs down:
- Ending surprise medical bills and predatory debt collections
- Saving the licenses of thousands of doctors, keeping them serving our communities
- Requiring big healthcare to cut their prices

Hunting isn't just a pastime here in Michigan, it's a tradition passed down through generations, one that keeps us connected to the outdoors and to each other. Whether you're a longtime hunter or a first-time participant, I wish you success and safety in the months ahead!

It’s game day! As a proud Western Michigan alum, there’s nothing quite like seeing the Broncos back on the field.

Also, congrats to WR Corey Davis and QB Zach Terrell on your recent inductions into the WMU Hall of Fame!

I’m looking forward to what this school year has in store, and I'm proud of the bipartisan work we’ve done to give students more opportunities to learn and succeed.

Congratulations to this year’s essay contest winners! Middle school students were challenged to write about their heroes. Savana wrote about her dad, and William chose Henry Ford. Their essays were thoughtful, personal and showed just how much young people have to say when given the opportunity.

It was a pleasure to recognize these talented students as “Representatives for a Day” and welcome their families to the Capitol. Seeing the effort they poured into their essays was a great reminder of why strong reading and writing skills matter. Literacy gives students the tools to express their ideas, tell their stories, and open doors to future opportunities.

Congratulations again to Savana and William! I’m proud of what you both accomplished and excited to see where your talents take you.
