Let's recap...
On April 8th, the community united in a peaceful march from Gateway Centre to the Hermanus Magistrate Court. This was in response to an accused appearing on serious charges: r**e, sexual grooming of a minor, and po*******hy.
Coming up on April 13th, a divorced ex-councillor will face the Hermanus Magistrate Court, accused of abusing his three children. This individual is notorious for playing the victim for years, believing himself untouchable.
Hermanus is standing together, demanding accountability and justice.

The frustration is real, and the need for accountability is urgent.

KONSTITUSIONELE HOF HOOR VANDAG ʼn BELANGRIKE SAAK AAN OOR SA SE SEKSUELE MISDRYFWETTE…
Die Konstitusionele Hof sal vandag ’n saak aanhoor wat moontlik groot veranderinge in Suid-Afrika se seksuele misdryfwette kan meebring, veral oor hoe toestemming in verkragtingsake gedefinieer word.
Dit volg op ’n uitspraak vroeër vanjaar deur die Pretoria-hooggeregshof wat die gebruik van sogenaamde verweer dat die aanvaller geglo het dat daar toestemming gegee is vir die daad, beëindig is.
Die organisasie The Embrace Project wat die saak aanhangig gemaak het, voer aan dat beskuldigdes nie op ’n subjektiewe oortuiging van toestemming kan steun nie.
Die Vroue-Regsentrum het as vriend van die hof aangesluit, maar is teen die ongeldigverklaring en wetwysiging.
