One of the original Carletonville Five, Zurka is a little sweetheart with a face that makes it very easy to fall completely in love with her. 🥹
And if she looks familiar… there’s a reason. 😂
Zurka and her sister Layla are the two look-alikes of the litter. Same beautiful colouring, same gorgeous faces — just two little personalities of their own.

Layla has already found her people. 🏡❤️
Now it's Zurka's turn.

Her brother Zeus has his forever home.
Layla has hers.

And Loyd and Crimson are still waiting too.
Zurka deserves the same chance.

And then there’s our Crimson girl.

One of the Carletonville Five, Crimson is the little girl who has always needed a bit more reassurance. She is the most scared and vulnerable of the siblings, and you can see it in the way she carries herself.

But look at her now. 🥹

She’s learning.
Learning that people can be gentle.
Learning that a hand reaching towards her doesn't have to mean something bad.
Learning that she is safe.
Learning that she is loved.

Crimson doesn't need someone who expects her to instantly be the confident, outgoing puppy.
She needs someone patient.
Someone who will give her time.
Someone who will let her trust them at her own pace.

Someone who will look at that worried little face and say, “You don't have to be brave today. I've got you.” ❤️

Lloyd has already come so far from where his story started. He gets to run, explore, play and be a puppy now — but there’s still one thing missing…

Today is a BIG little milestone for us.

After all the rescues, sleepless nights, vet bills, puppy bottles, emergency runs, cleaning, crying, stressing and somehow making a plan every single time…

RESQ now has its own official banking. 🏦🐾

This means we can start building the organisation properly and transparently — and every donation can go directly towards the animals who need us.

🐾 THE UPDATE I’VE BEEN WAITING TO SHARE ❤️

Sometimes rescue stories don't end the way you planned.

Sometimes they end better.

AMARA ❤️

Amara came into our care as a beautiful Lab X who just needed someone to give her a real chance.

We worked with her. We loved her. We watched her grow. And eventually, she went for her SAPS assessment.

And sadly… she didn't pass.

I'll be honest — that one hurt.

Because behind every assessment is a dog. A dog who doesn't understand paperwork, tests or whether she ticked the right boxes. Amara just knows people, love, safety and the life she's been given.

I didn't know what her next step would be.

Then Dawid and his family met her.

And they didn't hesitate.

They didn't look at her and say “She failed her test.”

They looked at Amara.

And they said YES. ❤️

Today she's running around their garden, sleeping comfortably in her new home and making herself completely at home with her new family.

And then came Dolfie. 🥹

DOLFIE ❤️

Dolfie came to us after almost drowning in his owner's dirty swimming pool.

He was only 9 weeks old.

A tiny puppy who should have been worrying about playing, chewing things he shouldn't and being a general little menace 😂 — not fighting to stay alive.

He came into our care, and we did what we do.

We gave him safety.

We gave him food.

We gave him love.

We gave him time.

And slowly, that scared little puppy became the happy, playful little boy you see in these photos.

Then his path crossed with Amara's new family.

And somehow...

THEY CHOSE HIM TOO. 😭❤️

So this isn't just an adoption update.

AMARA AND DOLFIE ARE GOING HOME TO THE SAME FAMILY.

The girl who didn't pass her SAPS test.

The little puppy who nearly didn't make it out of a swimming pool.

Two completely different rescue stories.

Two dogs who needed someone to say “We'll take them.”

And one family who did exactly that.

No more waiting.

No more wondering where they'll end up.

No more adoption posts.

No more hoping the right person sees them.

They have their people.

And honestly, that's what rescue is about.

Not every story is perfect.

Not every dog passes every test.

But sometimes you fight through the messy parts, keep going, and suddenly you're standing there watching two dogs who needed a chance walk straight into their forever home together.
