Today, (23 April 2026)The Fortunate Foundation for Community Development visited Garuele Village near Batlharos, where we implemented NSP Pillar 5: Economic Empowerment.
During the visit, we facilitated registrations for two cooperatives. One cooperative will focus on poultry farming, while the other will embark on cleaning detergent manufacturing and toilet roll production.
This initiative aims to promote sustainable livelihoods, create employment opportunities, and empower community members to become self-reliant. More support and capacity-building sessions will follow as we continue working towards strengthening local economic development.

The Fortunate Foundation for Community Development proudly hosted a Men For Change Dialogue in Ditshoswaneng Village, creating a powerful platform for men to come together, reflect, and confront real issues affecting our communities.
The dialogue focused on the urgent need to create safer spaces within our local taverns—places that should bring people together, not expose them to harm, violence, or discomfort. Men engaged in honest and courageous conversations about accountability, respect, and the role they must play in ensuring that these environments are safe for everyone, especially women and young people.
A critical issue that also took center stage was the growing concern of extortion within our communities. Voices were raised, experiences were shared, and a collective stand was taken against the silence that often allows such acts to continue. The message was clear: enough is enough.
This dialogue was not just about talking—it was about awakening responsibility, restoring dignity, and building a culture where men become protectors of peace rather than contributors to harm. Real change begins when men choose to stand up, speak out, and take action.
We extend our gratitude to all the men of Ditshoswaneng Village who showed up, participated, and committed themselves to being part of the solution. Together, we are shaping safer spaces and stronger communities.

The Fortunate Foundation for Community Development proudly hosted a powerful and impactful Community Dialogue in Kagung, focusing on the urgent and deeply concerning issues of Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) and Statutory R**e.
This dialogue was more than just a conversation — it was a call to action. Community members came together to openly confront the realities faced by women, children, and vulnerable groups, creating a safe and respectful space to speak, listen, and learn from one another.
GBVF and statutory r**e continue to destroy lives, families, and the very fabric of our communities. Silence is no longer an option. Through awareness, education, and unity, we can challenge harmful norms, support survivors, and hold perpetrators accountable.
We believe that change begins within our communities. By empowering individuals with knowledge and encouraging open dialogue, we are taking a stand to break the cycle of violence and build a future where everyone feels safe, respected, and protected.
Let us continue to raise our voices, support one another, and work collectively to end GBVF and protect our children. The responsibility lies with all of us.
Together, we are stronger. Together, we can make a difference. ✊🏽💜

Today, The Fortunate Foundation for Community Development hosted a powerful and impactful Community Dialogue at Ditshoswaneng Village where community members came together to speak openly about the urgent issue of Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF). These conversations are necessary to break the silence, challenge harmful behaviors, and stand together against violence affecting our women, children, and families.
During the dialogue, our partner organization SUDI also addressed the growing challenge of Substance Abuse in our communities. Substance abuse continues to destroy lives, fuel violence, and weaken families, making it critical for us to educate, support, and empower people to make healthier choices.
Real change begins when communities come together, speak up, and take action. Through awareness, unity, and continuous engagement, we are committed to building safer, stronger, and more resilient communities for everyone.
Together we stand. Together we speak. Together we act. ✊🏾
