With Chivero currently ranking among the ten most polluted lakes in the world, the ecological and public health crisis is undeniable. But WRZ is stepping into the gap with a fascinating, 100% natural Naias nanobubble technology that uses ozone to eradicate toxic algal blooms and rapidly restore oxygen levels without leaving an ecological footprint.

Lake Chivero’s Last Chance? Inside The Nanobubble Solution That Could Save Harare’s Dying Lake Water Restoration Zimbabwe (WRZ), led by CEO Tapiwa Nyandoro and CTO Ben Lee, is proposing a public-private partnership using patented Naias nanobubble technology to eradicate toxic algal blooms, restore oxygen levels, and provide off-grid potable water to struggling communities.

A €1 million grant from the Postcode Lottery will bolster wildlife rescue efforts, ranger capacity, and migration corridor protection in Zimbabwe’s Hwange-Matetsi-Zambezi landscape. The funding strengthens the ongoing partnership between IFAW and ZimParks, supporting conservation work across a region home to more than 45,000 elephants.
