NETS International, in collaboration with Sindh Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA), has successfully concluded a 5-Day Fiber Optic Access Network Training Program in Mithi, Tharparkar, bringing specialized telecommunications skills directly to one of the most remote and geographically challenging regions of Sindh.

The program was delivered as a free skills-development initiative under NETS International’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, with the shared objective of expanding access to industry-relevant technical knowledge and creating pathways for local talent to participate in Pakistan’s growing digital and telecommunications ecosystem.

Across five days, participants received both theoretical knowledge and intensive hands-on practical training covering key aspects of fiber-optic access networks, including:

🔹 Fiber preparation and handling
🔹 Fusion splicing and termination
🔹 Fiber inspection and cleaning
🔹 OTDR testing and fault identification
🔹 Optical loss and power testing
🔹 FTTH architecture and deployment practices
🔹 Practical installation and testing techniques

The significance of this initiative goes beyond the completion of a training program.

Bringing specialized fiber-optic skills to the desert region of Tharparkar demonstrates what can be achieved when industry and public-sector institutions work together to make technical education more accessible—particularly for communities located far from major urban and industrial centers.

Through this collaborative initiative, NETS International contributes industry expertise, technology knowledge and practical skills, while STEVTA continues its important role in promoting technical and vocational education and creating opportunities for skills development across Sindh.

Together, the initiative reflects a shared commitment to:

Because connectivity is not built by technology alone—it is built by people with the right skills to deploy, maintain and expand that technology.

From the heart of Tharparkar, the journey continues: building skills, empowering communities and contributing to a more connected Pakistan.
