Two ABS-classed LARS, built, tested, and ready to deploy 🚢
Our workshop has been a busy place lately. These two air-diving systems are now packed up and heading out to work on site. Proven design, built to the same high spec every time.
Our stand-out features:
âś… Class-approved.
ABS marine class for enhanced safety, reliability, and compliance with recognised marine and offshore standards. It also means faster vessel and project approvals.
âś… Built to last.
SS316 diver basket, S355 J2 main frame. Solid materials for systems built to last down to -20 degrees celsius.
âś… Mirrored setup.
Operators get easy access to every function, and you save valuable deck space on the vessel.
âś… Protected where it counts.
Controls and electrical connections sit recessed inside the main frame, so they stay safe through transport and lifting.
âś… LARS has been marked with MRC, RC and WLL.
As per latest IMCA D018 and IMCA D023 Rev 3 June 2026
âś… Seawater cooling option.
For long, continuous wire spooling, it keeps the hydraulic oil temperature in check and avoids high-temp cut-outs. As far as we know, it’s a first for an air-diving LARS, and it came straight from diver feedback.
That last one is our favourite part. Our team is made up of ex-divers, so we know what makes a long shift on deck easier. Small details like this are what make a system a pleasure to use, and we’ll keep building that way.
Planning a project and not sure which system fits? Talk to us. We’ll help you pick the right setup and stay with you long after delivery with full after-sales support.
Wishing these two a smooth journey and plenty of successful dives ahead!

It was a pleasure to attend the IMCA (International Marine Contractors Association) Middle East & India Regional Meeting in Dubai last week and connect with so many industry professionals in one place.
The meeting covered some very important regional topics and developments, with valuable discussions around safety, diving operations, industry incidents, emerging challenges and the future of our sector.
For our team, staying close to these developments is essential. Understanding the challenges our industry and clients are facing allows us to continue developing and providing equipment that is tailored to real operational needs.
A big thank you to IMCA (International Marine Contractors Association), particularly Adrian Phillips for bringing the industry together and organizing such an important event that creates a platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration.
We look forward to continuing the conversations and catching up again at the IMCA Global Summit in Antwerp later this year where we are exhibiting and sponsoring. If you will be joining us this year, please reach out to our team, we would love to meet you! Darya Borzykh Rushaa Qaiser

Ever thought about how much a 2.5-inch difference can change a supervisor’s entire day?
An 8.5″ depth gauge isn’t just «bigger» than a standard 6″, it’s 101% more dial-face area. That’s more than double the space for graduations to breathe, for numbers to be legible at a glance, for a supervisor who’s been staring at that dial for hours to read it instantly, not squint at it.
It sounds like a small ergonomic tweak. In practice, it’s the difference between a good shift and a great one.
That’s the thinking behind our Dive Control Panels, 8.5″ Pneumo/Depth gauges, positioned right at eye level:
✅ Large, clear graduations for easier continuous monitoring

✅ Dual scale (msw + fsw) — no mental math mid-op

✅ Mirrored dial to minimise parallax error

âś… Built around the person actually operating the system
Gauge size alone doesn’t make a great panel, of course, accuracy, calibration, range, illumination, and overall ergonomics all pull their weight too. However when we build our systems, the question we always keep in our thought process is «how can we make this easier for the person using it?»
Curious what else goes into that thinking? Drop us a line at đź“© [email protected] or DM us, we would love to have a chat!

Recently, SMARTDIVES had the pleasure of welcoming and mentoring Marios Mylonas, the 21-year-old son of one of our long-standing clients, Vasileios Mylonas, owner of MCM Subsea Engineering.
Marios is currently studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nicosia and is keen to develop his career within the subsea industry. Alongside his university studies, he is already actively supporting his father with the operations and projects undertaken by MCM Subsea Engineering — proving that the next generation is not waiting too long before getting its hands dirty!
It was a privilege to have Marios at our facility and to share with him some of the knowledge, engineering, and practical experience that goes into manufacturing our diving systems. Just as importantly, it gave us an opportunity to hear the perspective of an upcoming Gen Z talent and understand what the next generation can bring to the industry.
SMARTDIVES has always believed in encouraging young talent, and with capable and enthusiastic people like Marios entering the field, the future of subsea operations and diving system manufacturing certainly looks promising.
Nurturing the next generation to keep you safe.

Every dive project is different, so why should every container be the same?
This custom SmartDives Back-Up Deck Decompression Container was designed around the client’s operational needs, combining a DDC, 12-cylinder breathing-air quad and Bauer PE 550 HP compressor within a practical 20-foot offshore container.
From internal working space and access around critical equipment, to clearly labelled controls, corrosion-conscious weld details and the placement of every component, the layout is built to support safe, efficient offshore operations.
Our team brings real-world diving experience to every project. We do not simply supply equipment; we work with our clients to understand the operation, advise the right configuration and build a solution that supports the people who will depend on it.

A new chapter in Heliox transfer technology has officially begun 🚀
SmartDives LLC is honoured to announce the signing of an MOU with BAUER Kompressoren GGC FZE for a new Heliox transfer system, co-designed and developed through months of close collaboration between our teams.
This is not simply an improvement to an existing process. It represents a completely new approach to Heliox transfer, one designed to transform the speed, efficiency, and way gas transfer operations are carried out across the commercial diving industry.
This technology has the potential to become a genuine game changer for diving operations, addressing long-standing operational challenges through smarter engineering and a solution unlike anything currently available.
We are incredibly grateful to the BAUER GGC FZE team for their trust, expertise, and partnership throughout this journey. A huge thank you as well for the thoughtful and personalised gifts. We genuinely were not expecting them, and they are absolutely beautiful. The whole SmartDives team will be delighted to display them in our office.
We look forward to sharing more as we bring this innovation to the industry.
Stay tuned, the first preview is coming shortly.

Before the first diver enters the water, the right Machinery Van has already made the operation stronger.
The Dive Supervisor sees a prepared spread.
The technician sees clear access and practical maintenance space.
The contractor sees a system ready to mobilise, perform and win work.
That is the smart approach.
2 x BAUER PE 550 high-pressure breathing-air compressors give the team genuine HP capability when it matters, keeping HP storage replenishment practical and the diving spread ready.
A dedicated air-distribution panel, built around trusted brands such as Tescom and Swagelok, delivers controlled and dependable gas management using components recognised and supported worldwide. BAUER B-CONTROL adds clear visibility of running hours, service intervals and key operating conditions.
The Machinery Van is integrated with a smart air-distribution panel configured in line with IMCA D023, supporting independent primary air supply to each diver together with a common back-up supply to support diver decompression chamber operations.
The system is configured for semi-automatic operation, allowing it to continue functioning without constant technician attendance, while recognising that having a competent technician available remains good offshore practice.
Everything is arranged within an ergonomic, accessible Machinery Van designed around the people who operate, inspect and maintain it every day.
Integrated into an American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) Classed diving spread and aligned with the principles of IMCA (International Marine Contractors Association) D023 and D018, it is not simply a support container.
It is a mobilisation advantage.
For contractors, it means a stronger, self-contained package that improves mobilisation confidence, supports vessel-of-opportunity projects and creates more freedom to pursue the work that matters.
More readiness offshore. More confidence in the bid room. More value from every mobilisation.
Get in touch with the SmartDives team to arrange a live walkthrough of our Machinery Van.
