There are moments in an artist’s journey that make you pause and feel grateful for everything that has brought you here.
I’m so grateful to be recognised by VIDISHA PANDEY and Indian Folk Art Corridor for my journey and achievements in the field of art.
It feels even more meaningful because this recognition comes from someone who is doing such wonderful work to promote folk art, give it the visibility it deserves, and take it to a wider audience.
And what made this moment even more special was sharing it with my bestie and amazing artist Shrutika Gosavi, who was also recognised for her contribution to art. Seeing her being celebrated alongside me made the moment incredibly special, and I’m genuinely so happy we got to experience it together

Where do we find home when we leave the place we came from?
Murmuration began with this thought.
Birds travel from one place to another, finding new trees to settle in and new spaces to call their own. In many ways, people do the same. We move across countries and cultures, carrying our memories, our traditions and everything that makes us who we are.
And when we arrive somewhere new, home slowly begins to take shape around us.
Not just through a physical place, but through the people who accept us, the friendships we make, the communities we become part of and the new experiences we gather along the way.
The birds in Murmuration represent these different journeys coming together. Each one carries its own story, yet together they find a place to belong.
I still remember creating this hand cut paper installation in 2019 for Sikka Art Fair in Al Fahidi, Dubai. It was my first large scale installation and the work that gave me the courage to believe I could create something bigger with paper.
For me, the UAE became another home. A place where I found acceptance, belonging and the courage to grow.
Perhaps that is why this work remains so close to me.
It is my story, but it is also a story shared by so many people who leave one place and find another, carrying their culture and memories with them while making space for something new.
And this installation travelled with me too. Years after creating it in Dubai, I travelled with Murmuration to China, carrying a little piece of my story into another place.
A work about migration, acceptance and finding a nest wherever life takes us.

Kinda chic to turn scraps into art.
A little peek at what’s currently happening on my table.
This time, I’m exploring movement through paper pulp painting, playing with dancing forms, different poses and the flow of the human body.
What I really enjoy about working with pulp is the freedom it gives me.
With my paper cuts, I usually have a very clear shape in mind. I draw the lines, cut them out and work within those boundaries. But with pulp, I can move my hand much more freely. I can make a line flow, change its direction, stretch it, curve it and let the form develop as I go.
That freedom feels very different, and I’m really enjoying it.
This piece is still underway. It’s unfinished, still evolving, and I’m in no rush to complete it. It’s still waiting for me to decide what it wants to become.
For now, I’m enjoying the process.
