We took a deep dive into an app originally built in 2019. Back then, the product was solid, but 7 years in tech is a lifetime. User habits have shifted, and what was “standard” then is a “bounce rate” now.

The original version had a core problem: users were abandoning the app during onboarding, leaving reviews about performance lags, and struggling to navigate the library. We needed a complete rethink of the user journey.

Here is how we evolved the experience:

✔️ User Authentication: In 2019, asking for a full profile setup upfront was the norm. Today? It’s a dealbreaker. Having easy login is crucial.

✔️ Clearer UX Structure: We moved away from cluttered grids. By simplifying the navigation and content hierarchy, we ensured that the primary action, discovering and reading books, is always one tap away.

✔️ Intentional Content Display: We refined how books are presented. High-contrast typography, clear badges for “Free” vs. “Premium,” and better spacing make browsing feel like a discovery, not a chore.

Also we have done a performance optimization and improved the speed.
