✨ A fun community day at Seddwell! ✨

Last Thursday was a lovely example of how much can happen under one roof! 💛

🎲 Parkrun Graz hosted their monthly board games evening in our main room — a relaxed and welcoming evening that’s open to everyone. Whether you’re a serious board game player or just looking to meet new people and make friends in Graz, it’s a great way to connect with the community.

🎶At the same time our events room was filled with the joyful sound of a choir practising. Their singing brought such a lovely energy to the centre.

We love seeing Seddwell being used in different ways — people coming together to play, sing, practise, chat, learn and simply spend time with one another. 🌿

For us this a great example of what community is all about — different people, different activities, one welcoming space. 💛

☀️ 🌙Welcoming the Autumn Equinox at Seddwell

On September 23, day and night meet in balance, marking the Autumn Equinox and the beginning of autumn.

The Equinox is a beautiful moment of transition — a meeting of light and darkness, movement and stillness, outward energy and inward reflection.

As nature begins to turn inward, we too can take a moment to pause, breathe, and notice what this change of season brings.

🍂 What are you ready to let go of?
🌾 What would you like to nourish?
✨ Where could you invite more balance into your life?

At Seddwell, we welcome this seasonal transition as an invitation to slow down, reconnect, move, share, and gather together.

May the Equinox remind us that balance does not mean staying still — it is a continuous dance between light and dark, giving and receiving, doing and being.

Welcome, Autumn. 🌾🍂
We welcome this new season together.

🌳 SEPTEMBER'S YOGA POSTURE

Vrikshasana — Tree Pose

A tree does not resist the changing seasons. It grows roots. It bends with the wind. It lets go when the time comes. And it continues to stand.

This is why Tree Pose feels like such a beautiful companion for September.

🌳 Root down. Feel the connection of your standing foot with the earth.

🌿 Rise up. Lengthen through the spine and reach towards the sky.

THE ASANA:

Stand tall with your feet together or hip-width apart. Feel both feet grounded into the earth and lengthen through your spine.

Shift your weight onto your left foot. Slowly bend your right knee and bring the sole of your right foot onto the inner left calf or inner thigh — avoid placing it directly on the knee.

Once you feel steady, bring your hands together at your heart, or reach your arms overhead like branches growing towards the sky.

Keep your gaze softly focused on one steady point in front of you.

Breathe slowly and stay for a few breaths.

Then release gently and repeat on the other side.

🍂 Stay adaptable.
If you wobble, come back. If you fall out of the posture, simply begin again. Balance isn't about being perfectly still. Balance is our capacity to return.

Try Vrikshasana for a few breaths on each side this week.

🌿 Disconnect to reconnect!

Yesterday, we welcomed the Offline Challenge EU to the Seddwell Center for a relaxing wellbeing session, followed by a chilled-out get-together and chance to connect in our Koha Kitchen.

The EU Offline Challenge is great initiative encouraging young people to put their phones away and enjoy real-world activities, conversations and connections — free from digital distractions. 📵

A lovely reminder that sometimes the best way to disconnect is to reconnect — with ourselves, with others and with the world around us. 💛

Follow the EU Offline Challenge to find out more about their upcoming activities!
