„Fly“ – Ludovico Einaudi (Reimagined) 🕊️✨

We are still exploring and trying to capture the true Feeling of this magnificent Piece.
This is our first attempt—a raw, amateur Take on the iconic triplets of „Fly“.
By combining the percussive Diversity of the Mandala MidiDrumPad with the warm Soul of a Fender Bass, we hope to share a fresh way to experience Einaudi’s energy.
We hope the simple setup doesn’t take away from the listening experience! 🎧

In the course of experimenting, we stumbled upon something very interesting that will surely guarantee a lot of fun in the future, as it allows you to interact with circuits and binary numbers in Real Time using an acoustic Instrument and start a „question/answer“ conversation, ultimately uniting in creative symbiosis.

This is all achieved with the following combination:
The dynamic Range of an acoustic Drum Set, paired with a Chain of analog and digital time based and envelope triggered Effects that can be manipulated in Real Time.
The possibilities are virtually endless, and this is just scratching the Surface.

The Ingrediens are as follows:

• Acoustic Drumset played with Brushes
• sE Electronics sE8 Stereo Set
• Elektron Analog Heat Fx
• Soundcraft EPM12 Mixer

The microphones are positioned in an XY configuration on a stereo bar mounted on an overhead stand above the center of the snare drum.
The Mic Signal is amplified in the EPM 12 mixer (48v) and sent to the Analog Heat Fx via Aux Sends 1/2

Heat Fx Chain:
• Enhance Circuit (pretty wild heated)
• Filter Modulation
• Compressor (moderate Settings)
• Tape Warble (Slow & high passed)
• Reverb (Envelope triggered)
• Delay 1/4 Note - YES, after the Reverb!
(In this video, the feedback amount is still set manually; next time, an expression pedal will be used for this)
