Celebrating 30 years in skydiving for Wuzi! 🪂

Three decades ago in September, Wuzi and his friend Gregi Wolfrum geared up in Austria and did their first solo jump together. Looking at the photos from back then compared to now, it’s amazing to see how a single moment 30 years ago evolved into an absolute aviation legacy.
For Wuzi, the sky was always written into his DNA. His parents met on a dropzone while skydiving and in the mid 80s, they poured their hearts into starting Pink Skyvan. Growing up surrounded by the hum of aircraft engines and the community of jumpers, it was only natural that the hangar became his second home. He spent years jumping as a canopy pilot and was a big part of his freefly team “die Schurken.”
These days, he’s doing a bit of everything to keep the family tradition alive. As an aircraft mechanic, he’s part of the team that takes care of the Skyvans and prepares the planes for the season. He also runs ground control to keep the dropzone organized, and puts together the swoop competition at our homebase at Skydive Pink Klatovy. He is incredibly respected in the community and has done it all over the last 30 years including that iconic stunt where he rode on the outside nose of a flying Skyvan. And when he’s not busy at the dropzone, he somehow finds time to race gas balloons, winning the world-famous Gordon Bennett Cup 2 years ago and taking an incredible second place this year. 🥳
