Blue panels in a blue lagoon. When we first installed SolarSea®, we wondered how guests would feel about it. The feedback has been mainly curiosity and fascination. And there's the quiet — solar makes no sound and no smell, unlike a diesel powerhouse running day and night.

SolarSea® at Bawah Reserve, Indonesia — the floating solar technology we've developed in the Maldives, now also at work here. Islands share a common challenge: little land, abundant sun, and costly diesel. Floating solar puts clean energy on water that would otherwise go unused.

A 2.4 MWp floating solar system at Cheval Blanc Randheli in the Maldives. During peak sunshine it can produce more than the resort needs, with the surplus charging batteries for the evening. About a year to plan, and over a year to install — all while the resort kept running with virtually no guest disruption.

SolarSea® at TAJ Exotica Maldives, working alongside rooftop solar and battery storage. On many days it lets the resort run for hours with the diesel generators switched off. The thing people often notice first isn't the savings — it's the quiet.

From this distance, the floating solar is hard to spot — and that's part of its appeal. SolarSea® sits low on the water and makes no sound. The feedback we hear from resort guests is mainly curiosity and fascination.

1,180 kWp of rooftop solar at Finolhu in Baa Atoll. We always start with the roofs that are available — the most straightforward place to begin an island's shift to solar. The panels are built to last in the tropics: UV, salt, humidity.

SolarSea® platforms on a Maldivian lagoon. Moored in place and built to move gently with the waves rather than fight them. It took years of testing in real marine conditions to get the design right — the sea doesn't follow the rules of dry land.

A SolarSea® platform on its way to its final position.
We assemble the platforms on the island, then tow them out and moor them in place on the lagoon. In the Maldives, weather and tides can shift within hours, so plans are made and remade daily - a true challenge that our team has learned to accept as a daily reality.
Over 50 MWp installed.

A quiet moment at the end of the day on site. Behind every solar installation in the Maldives is a multinational team working far from home, adapting daily to the sea and the weather. We're driven by a simple vision: a cleaner future for islands.
