Tapkey is an open platform for mobile access control. It offers an API, Mobile and Lock SDK for app providers and hardware manufacturers to easily integrate mobile access control into their products. The platform offers an ecosystem of compatible hardware such as cylinders, wall readers, padlocks, furniture locks and car sharing boxes. The access technology comes with excellent features such as smartphone keys. They can be issued and revoked, instantly and remotely, and restricted to specified times and locations. Managing NFC transponders—in the form of tags, cards and wristbands—is possible directly via mobile phone. Near Field Communication (NFC) and Bluetooth (BLE) enables Android and iPhone users to open locks—even while offline. Additionally, Tapkey boasts high security standards.

More flexibility for your Tapkey locking system.
With Foreign Transponders, Tapkey Premium users can now register and manage compatible foreign NFC transponders in the Tapkey App. This gives you more options when working with existing NFC media or specific customer setups.
To use foreign transponders, the feature first needs to be enabled in the Tapkey Web Portal. The transponders also need to meet the required technical specifications, including MIFARE DESFire EV1, EV2, or EV3 technology and enough available memory for Tapkey access data.
Because the initialisation process is security-sensitive, it should always be carried out by an administrator in a secure environment.

As a Full-Stack Software Developer at Tapkey, he moves between what users see and everything working in the background. From different parts of the Tapkey product to integrations with external systems, his job requires him to understand how the pieces fit together.
