Amy (Amy Brassington - Mum, Food and Lifestyle 🩷 ) never trained as a cook. She got serious about it when she became a mum and wanted to know exactly what was going on her kids' plates, so she started making things herself and learned as she went.

She'd never posted online before either, so she taught herself that too, first video wobbles and all. A couple of years on, she's built a page full of simple homemade food that fits around real family life, and a community of mums who tell her they cook her recipes every single week.

She's proof you don't need training or fancy ingredients, you just need to have a go.

Long before there was a startup, there was Mum.

Her recipes lived in notebooks, scraps of paper, and voice memos scattered everywhere. We didn't want them to disappear. We wanted them to be shared.

That became Chefadora.

But she gave us so much more than recipes.

She taught us to create with love, to share generously, and to always put people first. Those lessons have shaped not just Chefadora, but the way Div and I try to live our lives.

I started Chefadora because I was afraid of losing my mum's recipes.
I kept building it because I realised millions of families have recipes they'd hate to lose. Maybe preserving recipes is another way of preserving our cultures❤️

Vi never went to culinary school. She picked it up as a kid, watching her mom in the garden and turning whatever they grew into dinner.

Then her health flipped everything. After a PCOS diagnosis and a bunch of food sensitivities, eating out got hard, so she taught herself to cook the food she loved without the gluten and dairy.

AI can make you a pizza that looks perfect, with every string of cheese exactly where it should be and not a single crumb out of place. What it can't make is the photo on the right.

Nobody stopped to pose for that one. Someone's hands were sticky, someone's mouth was too full to talk, and the table stayed a mess for a long time afterwards because nobody wanted to get up. That's the part no machine is ever going to generate, because it was never really about the pizza. It was about who was sitting next to you while you ate it.

Those are the memories that stay with you. Not the recipe itself, but the person who made it for you and the reason they bothered.
Cooking for someone is one of the oldest ways we've ever said I love you without actually saying it, and no algorithm has ever done that for anyone.

Ally (Ally Hemphill ) didn't learn to cook from a culinary school or a cookbook. She learned by standing next to her mom in the kitchen, watching her pull a meal together from whatever happened to be in the fridge. Her grandfather added to that. Between the two of them, she just absorbed it all.
