Funny thing about this job. After all these years I still get a kick out of standing on site with the plans in hand, watching something that started as lines on paper turn into real steel.
I came up through the trade the hard way, learning on the tools and picking it up job by job. You don't get the instinct for reading a drawing and knowing exactly how it'll go together overnight. It's earned, one mistake at a time.
That's what I try to pass on to the team now. Take your time, respect the detail, and take pride in what you build. Get that right and the rest looks after itself.
Still love it as much as day one.

Prospect Dentistry from above, start to finish. 🚁
Not every day you get to watch a whole new level go up on top of an existing building. From the original rooftop, to the steel frame taking shape, to the finished job, all in a spot with barely any room to move.
The bird's-eye view tells the story best on this one. ⭐
Handover complete on the Prospect Dentistry project, and we're pretty proud of this one.
The brief was to build an entire additional level on top of the existing building. To get the column locations right on a structure that was already standing, we 3D scanned and modelled the whole existing building before we fabricated a thing. That let us bring 8.5 tonnes of fabricated steel to site and install it with real precision, all through some seriously limited access.
The standout is the reception, with exposed floor-to-ceiling columns and seamless weld connections left on show. When the steel is the feature, there's nowhere to hide, so the finish has to be right.
Jobs like this come down to the team, and ours has the skills and knowledge to take on the complex ones. They outdid themselves here.

Now that's tight access. Barely enough room to swing the truck in, let alone crane a full load of steel off it. Slow and steady, and a good operator got every beam in and staged ready to go. ⭐

Plenty of sparks in the shop today. This is the part we enjoy, getting the welds down nice and clean.
